Home Alone

This morning is a bit like the departure in Home Alone when the whole family is running around. We decided to post pone our run until after our arrival on Bald Head to help de-complicate the morning.

In order to cut out more morning chaos I made overnight oats so I wouldn’t have to dirty a pot (or spare me the possibility of making oatmeal in the microwave 😉 )

Last night:

  • 1/3 cup instant oatmeal
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 container Banana Cream Pie yogurt (the aspartame kind 🙁 )
  • Pumpkin pie spice
  • Pinch salt

This morning:

  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/4 Probar crumbles
  • Skippy Natural

Hey, nothing wrong with oats in the microwave, you just have to get the technique right. The key is more liquid and to soak them overnight.

    Anyway, travel safe!

Haha, love the Home Alone reference 😉 One of my fave Christmas movies! I find those yoplait yogurts kinda creepy. I had an apple crumble one once, and it tasted just like the real thing. Except… no apples…or yummy crumble bits. Too weird for my tastebuds!

I still have yet to make overnight oats. I just like something to warm me up – I don’t know if I will like cold oats. I’m always so impressed about how controlled you are about your peanut butter. I don’t always have so much control around PB… Have a great trip and a wonderful run.

OMG!! Home Alone was on repeat ALL DAY yesterday, but I can’t remember which channel. I think we saw parts of at least 3 times! I don’t know if it’s the angle of the picture, but that looks like the smallest bowl of oats I have ever seen. Maybe my oat bowls have been too big?!?! Happy Travels…

My oats are almost always made in the microwave. I am NOT a morning person and I rarely have time for the real thing.
