Heapin’ Helpin’

IMG_7438-2Blog

Good morning friends! Just another day in paradise…that is a gray sky fall-like paradise. I could do with a splash more sun, but the sky is dry so far so I’ll take it.

IMG_7441-2Blog     Breakfast-6Blog

Despite the oatmeal weather, I made a smoothie – a heapin’ helpin’ of The Cluster was callin’ my name!

IMG_7437-2Blog

Raspberry Banana

  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup raw rolled oats
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • Cville Cluster
  • Sunflower Buttah

IMG_7440-2Blog

Golden Moon’s Coconut Pouchong is the best non-black tea I’ve had – and the most coconutty! Even more so than the Adagio I’ve been loving! Golden Moon is an OpenSky candidate (coming soon in a trio of ‘dessert’ teas!) and Adagio is one I bought myself. Love them both!

Happy hump day to you too! I’m hoping the rain holds off as well, but it isn’t looking good for the week!

I’m headed your way on Friday. My mom and I are flying out of the C-ville airport to go visit family in Minnesota. I might have to stop by the bakery if we get down there in time!

Do you know of any other food bloggers that go to UVA or live in Cville? I’d love to form a Club or have a lunch with us Cavalier foodies!

I got cold just looking at your pictures! This morning was definitely oatmea/oat branl (which included warm cinnamon apples, pears, blackberries, GH cashew butter) weather here, but it’s supposed to warm up to 70. I’ll definitely enjoy some yogurt and granola later in the day. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Kath, I’d like to do smoothies in the morning because I have no appetite. But my sensitivity to food in general is high and worry about overcomplicating the smoothie. What is a good one? And what is a good midmorning snack?

I eat a lot of nuts for snacks (30 almonds for example at once with fruit and other things). Maybe too many?

I would do a blend of milk (protein) and fruit like banana and frozen berries (carbs) and add a little whole grains or your nuts (fat) for crunch on top. Keep it simple.

Thanks. I’m trying to find something at 350-400 + calories for breakfast. I’m having trouble getting in calories for the day (around 21-2200 calories at this time). I usually eat 6 times per day, perhaps this is too much?
