I love starting every day with a healthy breakfast whether it be oatmeal, a smoothie, yogurt and granola, etc. I try to make sure my morning meal includes protein, fiber, and a bit of healthy fat. Also, starting the day off by thinking about the things we have to be grateful for makes such a huge difference!

A workout first thing in the morning gets me started on the right path for the day.

Mornings are my favorite time of day. Nothing makes the day better than starting it off by a sunrise run…followed by overnight oats topped with nut butter of course. Planning the run to occur near a farmers market makes it even better!

I have found that eating oatmeal for breakfast and often for other daily meals makes me feel healthy and ready for what the day holds. Sluggishness often disappears after an oatmeal pick-me-up.
Smile. Waking up with a smile on my face gives me that joy i need to get through a long day of classes, meetings and running around! Also, I love to get a quick run in with my running buddy and then have a warm shower…. and a lovely breakfast that must include a banana (how i love thee) before my trek to campus!

It’s a rare day that doesn’t start off with coffee and some type of oatmeal concoction (and I’ve gotten so many great new ideas on this front from KERF)– mine almost always start out with a base of oats/banana/pumpkin and then go from there. I’ve lost count of the number of cans of pumpkin I’ve had shipped into Switzerland from the U.S. via DPO!
Breakfast and a good cup of coffee!
I had my first child in August, so there have been many occasions where I have been up at 3:30 to feed him; after he falls asleep, I will often enjoy a few minutes of time to myself by reading your latest blog entry! When i get up to start my day, I enjoy a hot cup of coffee that my husband makes for me before he leaves for work-which I am usually sipping on while multi-tasking (using my breast pump or holding our son!)
Uh oh, is it wrong that every single day of my life is begun with a bowl of Cheerios, half a banana and half an English muffin with as much butter as I can get on it? Maybe I should switch to Oatmeal as the weather gets colder.

As always, lots of water, too!
