Go Brush Your Teeth!

If they’re anywhere near as sugary as mine are, you need to brush them twice.

No sugar coating on this blog today – it was 100% candy time!

This afternoon Becca, Zora and I enjoyed snacks of greek yogurt with granola plank and PB plus hot tea.

DSC05383  DSC05386

Zora liked the sunglasses she found in our house, plus the rocking chair that the husband sat in as a baby 🙂

DSC05385

When the husband came home he opened a pumpkin beer and gave Becca and me a sip. It was good, but Cottonwood is still king of pumpkin beers.

DSC05387

Just before dinnertime, we put on our costumes, Zombie Bride + Groom, to head down to our neighbors. You should have seen the husband lacing up my corset! And I think he did a pretty good job turning mascara into zombie eyeballs. I’ve also got blood dribbling down my chin. It was SO FUN to put my dress on again!

DSC05388

DSC05392

Our neighbors, Sarah and Adam, went as a Fisherwoman and Richard Simmons!

The summer version

 this !

DSC05396

For dinner we had yummy pizza from Hawthornes, a local place nearby that we’d never had. It was quite good! Very classic NY style big pieces. We had fun toppings: portabello and gorgonzola on the small and sausage/pepperoni/mushrooms/peppers on the large. I had 2 tiny pieces of the small and half a large slice.

DSC05403  DSC05404

Plus we brought a huge spinach salad with pepper, cuc, apple, cranberry, and blue cheese in a balsamic vinaigrette. Plus a yummy beer!

DSC05400  DSC05406

It was actually QUITE difficult to eat all of this in my wedding dress. I couldn’t even feel my stomach to know if I was hungry or full!

DSC05399

Seconds –

DSC05410

We didn’t get very many trick-or-treaters, but I did get a few girls ask me wide-eyed, “Are you a briiiiiide?!”

DSC05407  DSC05411

On to the SUGAR BOMB!!!

I had about 5 handfuls of this AMAZING candy corn peanut mix!

DSC05415

Plus 2 balls of each of these. I wasn’t crazy about either 🙁

DSC05413  DSC05416

Because all I really wanted was this! I eat one once a year on Halloween and it’s so good. Remember the ice cream Snicker bars? I used to LOVE those.

DSC05417

And I split these with the hub, along with a few peanut ones –

DSC05418

And had a ginger snap!

DSC05419

Then we went out to build the fire!!!!!! It was fun to get to know our neighbors. They have a great house and yard!

DSC05423

DSC05427

And I had a s’more…

DSC05438

And s’more, and s’more, and s’more, and s’more, and s’more, and s’more (some were just marshmallows though) I LOVE FIRES!!

DSC05433 DSC05435

DSC05439  DSC05443  DSC05444 DSC05441

And then I came home to find S’more from Rhodey Girl in my mailbox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the prize RG!!

DSC05448

I REALLY hope I don’t have a sugar hangover tomorrow 😥 I don’t feel that full, but you never know. It was a fun Halloween!

Tomorrow the husband is working at EF and I am working on school work. But we have plans in the evening to go to our friends’ house for dinner.

Have a TERRORific weekend!

looks like you had a terrific halloween! i can’t imagine trying to eat in a wedding dress, i would have dropped the pizza face down on it, i’m sure. bonfires (and smores!) are so much fun!!

… why do you only eat snickers once a year?! they’re not that terrible for you, are they??

The smores made my mouth water- I would have been happy with just a bite of that. My princess got a ton of candy – we’ll save it for the upcoming birthday party and give most of it away.

Halloween is the perfect time to splurge on candy 🙂

Freshman year of college I would get those snickers ice cream bars alllll the time – I was kind of a candy addict back then.

I got bars from RhodeyGirl today too – I wish I had checked the mail before I ate my candy – I totally would have gone for a spooky smores bar 😀

Your hair is cute like that!

If you didn’t talk to the parents, you might want to take the pics of the trick-or-treaters down. (You’re Kath, I’m sure you asked.) Just to be on the safe side.

You and Matt are adorable! Your boots are cute (by the bonfire). Are they Uggs? I’m on a mission to find cute ones that aren’t as expensive as Uggs…I have searched everywhere but all the ones I find are either not cute or not comfortable. Anyone have any suggestions?

Mmm, I’ve found that s’mores can be surprisingly romantic.

I think Thumper from Bambi said it best when he said, “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all.” I think in the blogging world that can be amended to, “If you can’t say something nice or constructive, don’t hit submit.”

How cool that you got to wear your wedding dress again. I thought of doing the same thing but I had to work all day in my Halloween gear and decided against it. I would be so scared I would get something on it/mess it up.

I love your wedding dress, but oh my god – didn’t it get dirty! I guess that doesn’t matter once you’ve worn it, right.

Oh and my niece and nephew each received a tooth brush while trick or treating!!!!

ooooooh! i LOVE the idea of bringing out the wedding dress! i may have to steal that idea in the coming years; i mean, i WANT to wear that gown again and when else would i have a chance to?

the only dilemma is cleaning it — i remember it was pretty expensive to do, and i have fantasies about future daughters wanting to wear the dress, so i want to keep it nice 🙂

You two are too funny…and a perfect couple!!!

Snickers once a year is not so weird. There are many things I used to eat and don’t anymore, or only ever eat once a year. I love Mounds but I only ever eat them around Easter – I used to think you could only get them then! Now I know differently, but I don’t ever buy them — except at Easter.

I use to LOVE the snickers ice cream bars. My sister and I use to fight over them. I use to love to eat snickers but i’m not into them anymore. But you should eat one more than once a year.

    jenner ,
No, they’re not that bad. Esp. a mini. But I don’t seem to come across them except on Halloween each year.

    M,
    I did ask 🙂

    Fancy ,
I don’t think I could ever pay over $100 for a pair of shoes!!! They are $20 boots I found at Target. They’re warm and cozy. Maybe not as comfortable as Ugs, but they do the job walking across campus in the cold 🙂

You eat one, fun sized Snicker bar once a year!! You split a packet of fun size M&Ms with hubby! You enjoy s’mores! Kath, seriously, you’re such a fantastic role model. I only HOPE someday I can learn that kind of moderation entwined with food enjoyment. I am so going to blog about this 🙂
