Remember when we were talking about Mazen’s art? Many of you recommended photographing the art and then making a book with the images. I love the ideal of digitizing it in this way, so I sat down and took a picture of everything in the basket in about 15 minutes. I then recycled anything that wasn’t worthy of playing with or possibly framing. He still plays with some of the things – like the masks or his mailbox – so I kept those. I decided to make this collage in Picmonkey, and I’m thinking about turning it into a poster for his room!
So I think I wrote that I bought a Turkish towel this summer locally here in Cville. I had high hopes of making it the prettiest bath towel in the house, but honestly, I just don’t love it for after a shower. But it’s great at the beach, and I absolutely LOVE Turkish towels as hand and kitchen towels. Goodbye terrycloth forever! I had a gift certificate to Etsy, so I used that to buy more. Beachy colored, of course. Aren’t they pretty?
On the towel front, I found this shark beach cover up at Costco. It’s so perfect for after bath time! He feels like such a big boy wearing it around the house. Here’s a similar one if you don’t have a Costco around.

And I feel like such a mom wearing these sweatpants around the house!! I am in LOVE with Lou & Gray. I bought these from LOFT and then these directly from Lou & Gray. Look for the SignatureSoft line – that’s the one you want. They can be described as a blend of mom sweatpants, hip joggers, butter and velvet all in one. So warm, so cozy.
Also on the leg front, I have declared the 7/8 leggings from Athleta my very favorite black leggings. They have just the right amount of compression and shape, and if your legs are as short as mine, they won’t have tons of fabric hanging out on the ankles or thighs because they are on the shorter size (but not cropped). They sit perfectly on the waist. Love.
How pretty are these?!! I also have my eye on these and these!!! ALSO: did you know they make the Birk Gizeh’s in Rose Gold Mirror now?!
I’ve been seeing commercials for ABC Mouse forever, but we only recently gave it a go. Mazen just got into it, and I set him up on my downstairs HP computer. He goes down to “do lessons” a few times a day and lasts about 15 minutes. I have to say I’m really impressed with some of the tools – like the word puzzles and counting. I think it’s going to be very helpful over the summer! And of course pirates need to know how to count their treasure…
Mazen is getting into card games. He and Matt are aces at UNO and the loser has to do pushups, so that’s always a fun video to watch. I found this series of card games that come packed in nice storage boxes and they are great. They are perfect for packing up for a restaurant visit or airplane.
And finally, my gym favorites!! This is us after a hard strength class taught by Bradley. Thanks to Lauren for capturing the fun!

I am excited to try those leggings! I have short legs too and I HATE when there is a bunch of extra fabric bunched up at the bottom, it makes me feel so sloppy. I feel like for leggings to look / feel like a real outfit, they have to fit really well and I have trouble finding that. That is a very sweet idea to make a poster out of Mazen’s art work too, I’m sure he will feel so proud 🙂
The shark coverup is the CUTEST! Do they have adult sizes? Haha!

Oh yes, leggings and sweats! Those are both perfect for me. I live in cosy clothes!
Those Turkish towels are absolutely gorgeous! I love them. And I’m not a mom, but I’m definitely buying those Loft/Lou & Grey pants ; )
If you like uno, you’ll love uno spin!
Cool! I haven’t heard of that!
I love Mazen in his pirate hat and his robe! LOVE that little guy! Such a cutie. and the playing UNO with Matt and the winner does pushups is adorable! haha.
Also sweats and comfy clothes are what I live in 99% of the time. Jeans are my dress up clothes. 😉
Have a fun weekend Kath! XOXO
I LOVE those Tom’s shoes as well! I have a question, what is the ipad stand you have for the kitchen? Do you like it?
Also I’ve been a long time reader and Thanks to you I bought my first bag of red hot blues. I saw them at whole foods and had to try. Just had them for lunch, delicious!!
I use this one while using it, and then I have an aqua charging one (that no longer charges) that I have on the kitchen counter that I got years ago from a company that I can’t remember!
I’ve declared Lululemon Align pants as my favorite black leggings! Have you tried them? They are also a perfect 7/8 length for my short legs. You must try them on next time you’re at Lululemon!

I haven’t but I will look for them!
Such a good idea to photograph your kid’s art- definitely doing that.
Those pants look amazing! I loved Lou & Grey’s leggings post-baby, need to check these out.
The Etsy Turkish towel link wouldn’t work for me.
Oh darn. Are you in the USA?
Yup!
Where did you get the striped shirt? It is darling!
Stitch Fix!
My 3 and 5 yr old boys love ABC Mouse. I started 2 years ago when my oldest was 3, but the computer keyboard and mouse was a bit much (and I still haven’t devoted the time to helping him with it enough). We use it on the iPad and it is great and so kid-frieindly!
I love the learning tracks, the earning tickets, spending your tickets on things to decorate your room, get pets to take care of, buy them food, etc.
Even from the iPad he can print off pictures he’s colored or print off blank ones to color, brings all his fun to real life room decorations!
I love the idea of digitizing our kiddos’ art! Thanks for sharing that idea!
Hi there. I was wondering where you got the stand for your tablet that’s in the kitchen. I would love to get one. Thanks.
Sue
I just remembered the brand – Quirky! This is it.
Thanks. I appreciate your help.
Love those games in the little lunchboxes! So cute. I bought a bunch at Tuesday Morning, they were so cheap. And amen on the Turkish towels – I am obsessed, too! I’ve found you can get them on Amazon pretty cheaply in dozens of colors and patterns. I’m giving a big basket of them to a family we’re visiting in Nashville next month. I hope they love them as much as I do – perfect for beach and pool! Did you know Athleta will alter anything you buy from them for free with 2-3 days? I didn’t! I am also petite, and have a hard time finding leggings that fit correctly so I am really glad they’ll do this. They also shortened the sleeves on a rashguard top I bought from them last year. Very cool.
Happy Spring, Kath!
I didn’t know that!!
