Four Times Delicious

Herrrreeee weeeeeeee gooooooooooo!! The start to my third-to-last week

I’m feelin’ that wine a bit this AM

But breakfast always helps. And coffee!

Matt, the Superstar, got up to make me Great Harvest Pancakes this morning ! I was expecting oats and came down to find golden circles sizzling on the stovetop.

IMG_5004 (640x427)

This was with the Great Harvest Pancake Mix, which is 100% whole grain. You just add water, egg and a tbsp of oil to prep for cooking. The mix was fabulous. We’ll def. want to have it at our bakery!

He made four different kinds:

  • Flax, which I topped with Maranatha Choco Almond Butter
  • Coconut, which I topped with coconut butter
  • Pecan, which I topped with Pecan Pie Butter (!!!)
  • Peanut Butter, which I topped with Cinnamon Vanilla Sunflower Butter

Only about a tsp of topping each to try to keep the portions reasonable. They were all IN-credible!! I think the crunchy pecans with the Pecan Pie Butter was my fav πŸ™‚

IMG_5011 (640x427)

I ate 3.25/4 and shared the rest with Matt. They were quite filling!

See ya lata!

Those pancakes look so nice and thick! I love the idea of topping each one with a different nut butter. You’re lucky to have so many different kinds at your disposal. Do you know if all Great Harvest stores carry this mix…or is it possible to order online? I just adore whole grain mixes, and while I love my Kodiak mix, this seems like a yummy alternative!

Apparently I haven’t been reading the blog long enough to know the answer to this question…

I’ve seen the bears pop up on your blog time and time again! Is there a story that goes with them? A reason they go on so many of your trips? I think they’re adorable and a fun addition; I was just wondering about their particular significance to you!

ha, better than how my morning started… mine started at the DENTIST!

i wanted to let you know that i learned how to make crema with a french press – a waiter demo’ed it while i was dining out this weekend – perhaps you already know this, but he said to get a better froth you should push the plunger slowly, only halfway, and then raise it again, and then slowly push it all the way down. i always just pushed it down right away.
