Flurry

It’s been a flurry of a Christmas morning!

IMG_5924Blog

Have you seen the forecast for the Eastern shore? It’s grim for travelers. Lots of snow is expected to fall right in our travel path. Thus, Matt’s family is leaving this afternoon, and the rest of us are going to Bald Head Island a day early! This has caused quite the flurry of discussion and planning.

But before the idea of leaving early arose, we all leisurely got up and had a few hours to kill before brunch (my how the times have changed since the 7AM present unwrapping parties!), so we went out running. Matt, Matt and I covered 4.5 miles around Hillsborough. Larbs went out running with her headphones, and Dad was out reading a book and walking.

Once we’d all returned, everyone gathered around the table for brunch – still no present opening yet!

Plus coffee, part of this complete breakfast!

Then it was present time!! I got many beautiful and fun gifts – candles, a watch, tea towels, scarves, Crab chips, giftcards! Thanks to everyone!

We are headed to visit with Matt’s dad and uncle and family and then we depart to beat the storm. Christmas dinner might be at Ebb + Flow’s seafood restaurant tonight!

What a lovely Christmas!! Can I just say I love your parents house? of course I haven’t seen the whole thing but from what I have seen throughout the years I love lol. It reminds me of an old historical home turned bed and breakfast, makes me want to cozy up with a book by the fireplace. I hope you and your family had safe travels and an amazing day! : )
