Eye Of The Hurricane

I managed to sleep until 7:30 this morning – woo hoo! And surprisingly, I don’t have any side effects from multiple alcoholic indulgences yesterday. Must have been all that water I chugged around 5:00. But I’m very, very happy about that.

We came out to the porch for another lovely breakfast. I really, really want a nice big porch on my house when I grow up!

Coffee in the garden

Breakfast started with fruit paired with a dollop of (what I think was) plain thick yogurt with a sprig of rosemary. I ate my rosemary sprig and it was REALLY good with the fruit!!

IMG_3921 (640x427)

I noticed there was some granola and berries out in the other dining room for some other guests and I asked if I could have a bit on the side as well. They presented me with this beautiful presentation. The granola was DELICOUS!!

IMG_3922 (640x427)

How cute is this bowl!?

IMG_3928 (640x427)

Today’s main course was a Summer Veggie Frittata with Parmesan, a Tomato + Basil salad and cornbread.

IMG_3926 (640x427)

The frittata was delicious!!! I loved the texture and must figure out how it was prepared. The veggies were also so fresh. I didn’t eat my cornbread because I got my carbs in the form of granola 🙂

IMG_3927 (640x427)

We really enjoyed talking to a couple from Arizona over breakfast both days. And now I’m sipping tea on the porch and enjoying this perfect weather while blogging.

Annnnddddd…..WE JUST GOT AN OFFER ON OUR HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We shall see where this goes. The offer requests closing on June 30th – before my internship is over. Crazy!! I also found an adorable cottage to rent in Charlottesville. Things are changing fast.

The eye of the hurricane has almost passed…

Congratulations on the offer!!!! 🙂 That is so exciting! I have to say that I am totally jealous because my place has been up for sale almost seven months and is priced way below what I paid for it, but without a single offer. Everything happens for a reason though, so I will continue to be patient 🙂

I’m 100% with you on big porches. When I was little, I told my parents that I wanted to live in the big house at the end of our street because I wanted the porch. That house is now our house! I read and sleep in the swing on the front porch every summer. It the best part of the house. . . beside the kitchen. 😉

    Dear Kathy,
The timing of your trip is perfect! My husband and I are traveling to Asheville in 2 weeks for our anniversary and we are looking for lodgings. Your B&B sounds delightful! Would you please email me the name and locale of it? I’ve never been to NC but your blog makes me want to visit…especially in the winter. Happy Anniversary and here’s to 50+ more years together!

How exciting to get an offer! My boyfriend always tells me when things happen and change fast that it must be meant to be. If it weren’t meant to happen it would be a struggle. Oddly, I’ve found this to be true. Every time something happens in my life and it happens fast it’s usually for the best.

I was meaning to email you on your trip and tell you that it’s often the case that when owners are away out of town the house SELLS! Weird huh?
