Evenings Supper Club II

Foodblog-15

After my first dinner with Evenings Supper Club I knew I had to take Matt back on a date night. These kind of events are right up our alley….er, garage!

Karen came over to play with Mazen and sent us out on the town. (Sidenote: Karen went to one of the dinners by herself and had a glorious time!)

Foodblog-2

Dress: Stitch Fix.

Necklace: Girls Day Out.

Fitbit: Theodora!

Foodblog-3

We arrived to find Chef Bryan sharing the concept of Evenings surrounded by cocktails and canapés.

Foodblog-4

The signature cocktail must have been a lemonadey gin drink because it went down so easily after the hot walk there! Thirst. Quenched.

Foodblog-5

The canapés were mozzarella, tomato, basil skewers and apple, manchego and pecan bites. Loved those!

Foodblog-6

After introductions and conversation, we settled down to our table for the evening.

Foodblog-7

As always, Evenings is BOYB, and we brought a bottle to share from Virginia’s San Soucy Vineyards from this trip! {<— ahhhh Mazen was so little!}

Foodblog-10

The table was dressed in colorful glass bottles and candlelight. Love!

Foodblog-8

We began our meal with a Spring Pea Soup, Ham Hock, Carrot Panna Cotta and Parmesan Crisp

The soup was deconstructed and Chef Bryan poured it hot onto our arranged plates. Loved this tableside concept!

Foodblog

Foodblog-9

You wouldn’t believe it, but chef was working with such a limited kitchen in the back – a far cry from a modern industrial kitchen!

Foodblog-12

Our main course was Maple Cured Chicken Breast and Fried Chicken Thighs with Braised Cabbage in a Buttermilk Mayo. I loved the fried chicken piece – so much flavor! I also love that Chef Bryan always does two styles of one main course (last time it was pork).

Foodblog-11

The dessert course was, of course, my favorite. A deconstructed cheesecake! Blueberry Cheesecake, Lemon Whipped Cream, Crispy Filo & Dulce de Leche. Chef Bryan cooked the cheesecake sous vide and then piped it onto our plates. I loved the presentation!

Foodblog-13

Our surprise final course included some of the favorites from my last dinner:

Vanilla macaroons with Nutella
Chocolate truffles in cocoa
Honey black pepper jellies

Foodblog-16

And Peach Moonshine!

Foodblog-17

These dinners are so special and intimate. And as always the food is exceptional. We had such a great time, I am excited for when the dinners resume in the fall!

The presentation on that pea soup is blowing my mind. Doesn’t it look like something that belongs in a cooking magazine or something? HOW FUN If they had something like that around here I would definitely be going!!

One of our local (Milwaukee, WI) RSA style restaurants called ‘Braise’ has just started something very similar to this! It’s a limited space on a long table set under the stars. The price is about the same. I wanted to go, but I will be out of town for it. 🙁 Hopefully when the next one comes around, I’ll be able to reserve a spot for my hubs and me. This looks like something we’d both really be into. Thanks for sharing the evening with us!

Okay, this is going to be a weird comment, but what undershirt is Matt wearing? I struggle with finding the right undershirt for my husband to wear when he’s wearing an unbuttoned shirt. The v-neck is either too deep or he needs something other than white. Help?

Alright, so I’m checkin out this stitch fix deal. So…you get 5 items and you only pay for them if you keep them? And other than the $20 stylist fee, there’s no other out of pocket fees or charges? I was thinking an every other month mailing would work for me, how often do you get your box? Thanks!

You are correct! And the $20 fee goes toward your purchases so if you buy anything you can consider it waived

Wow! I love these ideas of casual, yet formal dinners. The menu always sounds so intriguing, too… not stuff you’d normally see. Love that you’re able to attend! Question–are you sponsored for this, and get to attend for free in return for a write-up or do you pay and just write about it because it’s something you enjoy? Just curious! Seems as of late (no judging–know this is your “job!!”) there are a LOT of sponsored posts….
    thanks for your honesty!
