Eggggcelent

[Said in the voice of Mr. Burns!]

IMG_8560 (600x400)

It was so nice to sleep in! Although I was up at 5:40am because the house was vibrating. I was SURE it was another earthquake in Virginia, so I was scared for our own house, but then I heard my mom moving around so it must have been her pounding the 1833 floors.

IMG_8566 (600x400)

We all just finished breakfast – Great Harvest toast (with sunflower butter I gave to mom a while ago that magically is still around!!!), fruit salad and sunny side up eggs!

IMG_8559 (400x600)

IMG_8561 (600x400)

Plus a steaming cup of dad’s coffee

IMG_8563 (400x600)

IMG_8558 (400x600)

Lillis Billis had Fancy Feast and special meow milk. She is 17 and when you pick her up she feels light as a bird!

IMG_8565 (600x400)

Off on a family hike!!

That looks so good! The only time I can find eggs in Italy is at dinner with truffles… which isn’t bad except that mean breakfast is cured meat or pastries.

Lillian the Wonder Cat is walking on clouds after so many lovely comments. She keeps singing, “I’m a cool, gorgeously angry, bad ass cat!” She says when she finishes walking on clouds, she’s going to walk like an earthquake since she rules the house.

If I was your mom and you publicly compared my walking around to an earthquake I would be so offended and upset. Maybe you need to have some more consideration for people’s feeling. Talking about people weighing more in your last post was pretty awful too.

I daresay in posting this comment, you anticipated the tidal waves of hostility that are going to be coming your way for daring to criticize what was written.

Well, I guess I am too.

I agree. I thought the comment about mistaking your mom’s footsteps for an earthquake was in poor taste. I know you probably didn’t mean it to be anything but an amusing anecdote, but it didn’t come across as such.

Seriously? I think you guys need to lighten up a little and stop picking apart every little comment in posts. I doubt Kath meant it in a rude way and I doubt her mom cares. If so, then she’s easily offended. Our old floors creak heavily in my house whether it’s a child or man walking around.

Sure, floors creak in most houses. I’ve just never equated someone walking on those squeaky floors with an earthquake. And if it’s so obvious that the floors do creak, then why was an earthquake the first thing that came to mind?

I don’t see my comment as picking apart anything – I was giving my opinion. Not every comment has to be a validation of how awesome something looks. I read this blog frequently and most times, my feedback is positive. That doesn’t mean I’m not entitled, as a reader, to make a constructive comment RESPECTFULLY. It has little to do with lightening up – everything to do with being aware of other people.

I never said you had to make a comment saying how awesome everything looked. I simply said to stop reading into things so much and get so easily offended. Kath’s mom is a big girl and can defend herself if she doesn’t like it.

I understand what you’re saying, but Kath’s mom has been on the blog a lot, and she is obviously a slender woman. I thought Kath was moreso making a comment about the house being built in 1833. I think anyone would make the floors creak! 🙂
