Doggie Fort

Morning!

We got out of bed to see Michelle + Ben off to work today while sipping on coffee.

IMG_6861 (640x427)

We’re holding down the doggie fort! This is their foster dog, Freddie, who is ever-so-sweet and terrified of us. He’s been shaking in the corner since we came downstairs. Poor guy. He needs a home if you live nearby and want to adopt him!

IMG_6862 (640x427)

Little Cooper must have had 5 cups of coffee before we came downstairs!

IMG_6867 (640x427)

We’re having more toast with smashed banana for breakfast because it’s quick, easy and no-cook. I LOVE this breakfast (dough + cream + sticky PB + crunchy granola) so I don’t mind having it a few days in a row 🙂 Michelle had Trader Joe’s PB – a treat!

We’re gearing up for another Y2 Yoga class!! One more before we hit the [long] road back to Cville. I have to say, I didn’t want to leave Cville to come on this trip, but now I don’t want to leave Charlotte again – so many friends! But I’m sure when we get back in the Virginia hills we’ll feel right back at home.

Oh, this post (and many of yours recently, actually!) makes me miss my dog! I still get to see her a few days a week when I visit my parents, but it’s not the same as having your pets with you every day 🙁

The toast for breakfast is actually portable food if you add another bread to make it a sandwich. Good on the go food for when you are going to the gym early morning and headed straight to work. I’ve done it a few times 🙂

Everytime I see a dog up for adoption, I want to take them home and love them! But since we already have four pets in our tiny little house, I think my husband would freak out if I brought another one home. I can’t seem to resist! They are my weakness! One of our cats was like Freddie when we first adopted him. He wouldn’t let anybody touch him and would hiss at everybody, but he came around eventually and loves cuddling now.

I’m at capacity with three cats in an apartment. (I volunteer at the SPCA. yeah, I know.) And one of them would probably slap that poor little guy around. But I hope his forever family finds him soon. He seems really sweet, and I hope gets all the love he deserves.

And he might have been abused, or else he’s just neurotic. There’s stuff you can do, but it depends on how much work you want to put in, or If you wait for his forever family. The dog whisperer guy actually has a lot of good advice on how to deal with neurotic dogs on his site. But I’m guessing that he mostly just needs time to trust you guys. If someone did slap him around, he just needs to trust humans again. He might never be fully ok, but he can learn to trust his family, I think.

And good for you guys for taking them in!
