Cooling In Advance

It’s gonna be a scorcher today – break out the cold oats!

IMG_2573

Overnight “cooked” and freezing cold!

IMG_2574

Typical overnight oats base but with fresh blackberries instead of banana, plus granola on top for that final crunch.

IMG_2578IMG_2564IMG_2576

Served with hot tea –

IMG_2570

And an unhappy Pumpkin who got reprimanded for climbing the screens!

IMG_2566

Have a wonderful Wednesdays!

I’m not looking forward to this heat today! I’m glad you are keeping cool. It’s already in the 70’s this morning where I live.

    Happy Wednesday! 🙂

That’s my philosophy! I hate winter & will take summer any day instead (especially with air conditioning…ha!). I’m in northwestern Ohio & it was 98 here yesterday & supposed to be the same today. Love it! 🙂

I’ll be the bearer of the bad news here. Pumpkin will destroy your screens by climbing on them. We had a screened porch on our last house that kept our cat an “indoor” cat. He climbed the screens to chase bugs and lizards and made a huge mess. We had to replace all the screen before we sold the house. Get a spray bottle of water (plain water will not hurt him) and spritz him when he starts climbing. I dearly lost my cat but when they start doing something wrong, it is a big job to stop it.

I’ve used the water approach as well. It works. Cats don’t mix well with screens.

Try a squirt gun with water. Just spritz him once when you catch him on the screens and eventually he’ll stop.

I have to tell you this morning my son had a glass of fresh-squeezed juice and a bowl of fruit. I told him that was a nice, healthy breakfast and he said “Now, Jonathan eats real food.” (haha) I certainly wasn’t expecting that response. You’re becoming popular with the kids. 🙂

    Enjoy your hot day!
