Beautycounter Body Products Review

Back to Basics

You’ve most likely heard me rave about my skincare regimen but I often forget to mention the Beautycounter clean beauty essentials that we use in our home regularly. With all of our hand washing and daily bathing to keep any bad bugs away, it’s important that our cleansers and lotions are free of fragrance and safer, too.

New Sustainable Packaging

The Beautycounter body care product line up just got a pretty packaging makeover. Not only are they beautiful, but they come with sustainable improvements too. The Daily Shampoo, Daily Conditioner, Body Wash, and Hydrating Body Lotion are packaged in carefully screened, recyclable aluminum bottles, with refills available! Balm For All is packaged in a PCR tube, made made with approximately 30% post-consumer recycled resin. The Softening Hand Wash and Lotion are packaged in recyclable glass.

These are the Best Beautycounter Body Care Products

1. Hydrating Body Lotion

This lotion has the most lovely, light citrusy scent. It is lightweight and fast-absorbing — perfect for slathering all over your body after a shower. Chock full of nourishing ingredients like macula, mongongo, and safflower seed oils, plus shea and jojoba butters, it is rich in antioxidants and amino and fatty acids (important for us to eat regularly, too!). The Countermatch Adaptive Body Moisturizer is also fantastic (especially for dry or irritated skin) – and the guys love it as it’s scent-free.

2. Body Wash in Citrus Mimosa

This citrusy body wash is new to me! I recently ordered it and am very impressed with how little you need to suds up a whole loofah. (It smells great too – light and fresh citrus). And if the men in your life want something a little more masculine, the Charcoal body wash is a customer favorite. (Thomas and I both use it!)

3. Shampoo & Conditioner in Bright Grapefruit

I’ve tried several cleaner shampoo and conditioners in the past and found their either smelled way too herbal and strong or they didn’t suds up at all. I like my shampoo to foam and my conditioner to be super smooth all the way down my pony tail. Since buying the Daily Shampoo + Conditioner I’ve been really happy! These come in recyclable aluminum and you can buy refills to save having to buy the pump twice.

Plant-based ingredients for great clean and shine:
  • Amaranth Protein: infuses hair with moisture and shine, helping to reverse the appearance of dull-looking hair
  • Grapefruit Peel Oil: rich in antioxidants, it helps cleanse the hair by removing residue build up
  • Marula Oil and Rooibos Leaf Extract: helps deliver shine

4. Melting Body Balm

The Melting Body Balm is one of my very very favorite products for its heavenly scent. Monoi flower takes you right to the tropics! My hands get so dry in the winter, and this is the best hand cream for cuticles and dry spots. It starts as a thick balm and then melts into your skin as an oil as it warms up. Did I mention it smells SO SO good!?

5. Balm For All

What was once just a balm for babies is now a balm for all! The fragrance-free blend includes shea butter and jojoba seed oil that can be used to hydrate delicate areas, like lips, eyelids, and cuticles. Think of it as an alternative to Aquaphor or Vaseline.

6. Hand Wash & Hand Lotion

Hopefully y’all are washing your hands as much as we are. We are going through hand soap like no tomorrow! We keep this hand soap and hand lotion set by every sink in our house (it also makes for a great house-warming or “thinking of you during COVID-19” gift). Both the Hand Wash and Hand Lotion are packed with nourishing ingredients – including organic aloe and calming chamomile. The scent is delicious – a soft cloud. Before you look at the price, remember the recyclable glass bottles are HUGE!

9. Sugarbuff Body Polish

Gently buff away dull skin for a healthy-looking glow with this smoothing body polish made with organic, super-fine sugar and sweet almond oil. One of my favorite products to gift – for mother’s day! You’re going to want to eat it (but please don’t!)

10. Luminous Body Oil in Citrus Rosemary

This silky, lightweight formula, with a blend of botanical oils easily absorbs into skin to lock in moisture, leaving a luminous sheen. Great for SUPER dry skin and when you want to spread hydration over a large surface area – the oil is the best! The Citrus Rosemary scent is delicious – this one also makes a great gift!

Which of the 3 Beauty Counter facial oils would you say is the “lightest”? I’ve tried #3 and liked it but I’m thinking it might be too heavy for summertime. I have combo skin with a few breakouts. Thanks

Hi! They are all about the same consistency, and I agree they are a bit too heavy for me in the summer too. (If I do use them it’s a night.) If you’re looking for hydration in summer, I’d recommend a lightweight moisturizer like the Countermatch Adaptive Moisturizer (good for combination skin) or even the Dew Skin because it has built in SPF.

Thanks for your advice. What shade of the Dew Skin do you use?

I use Dew #2 ; ) But I can also wear 1 in winter and 3 in summer.
