BlogHer Round III

My third BlogHer Conference. Here we go again!!!!!!!!

IMG_3593 (640x427)

Woke up definitely not feeling even close to my best this morning. Blech. We didn’t get much sleep either because we had to get up super early to drive back to San Francisco.

As I showered, put on clothes, put on make up and got some coffee, I felt better and better step by step.

We ventured to the breakfast room to grab some breakfast for the road. I took some fruit and coffee, but wasn’t really hungry at all so I just drank the coffee.

IMG_3533 (640x427)

[Enter 60 minutes of travel]

IMG_3536 (640x427)

By the time we got to the conference though, I was ready to dig into this buffet!!

IMG_3537 (640x427)

Paninis –

IMG_3538 (640x427)

Pastries + breads + FRUIT!

IMG_3539 (640x427)

Wallaby Yogurts (wish I’d wanted one because I like these a lot!)

IMG_3540 (640x427)

And finally, these beautiful Peach Smoothies by the California Milk Advisory Board

IMG_3541 (640x427)

IMG_3543 (640x427)

I grabbed a smoothie, which came along with a recipe card 🙂 I ended up drinking half

IMG_3547 (640x427)

I also piled on the fruit

IMG_3550 (640x427)

And had a little egg + cheese + ham panini and half a croissant. Today is all about the flava, y’all!

IMG_3551 (640x427)

IMG_3549 (640x427)

Coffee – in a gorgeous teacup!

IMG_3548 (640x427)

IMG_3546 (640x427)

Unfortunately I still feel kind of hung over today. I was really hungry, but food make my hangover worse 🙁

The best part about BlogHer’s conferences are the exhibits. I stopped to check out Cuisinart’s –

IMG_3557 (640x427)

Drooled on some Pillsbury frosting (going back for that later!)

IMG_3554 (640x427)

And jumped up and down over some shrooms!! The Mushroom Council’s shrooms to be exact.

IMG_3552 (640x427)

Jessi helps me get my posts onto the Mushroom Channel

IMG_3555 (640x427)

SWAG! Was excited to see Popchips, Nature’s Path (which I just ran out of!) and these gourmet bars of chocolate.

IMG_3558 (640x427)

What’s really cool is that whatever swag that people don’t take home with them is going to a food bank. What a great idea for the canned goods I can’t take on the airplane.

IMG_3566 (427x640)

This is the most beautiful hotel. Every nook and cranny is gorgeous –

IMG_3563 (640x427)

IMG_3564 (640x427)

The ballroom chandeliers!!

IMG_3634 (640x427)

IMG_3565 (640x427)

Session 1: Developing Your Visual Voice.

IMG_3560 (640x427)

I basically just drooled over Heidi Swanson + Matt Armendariz’s food porn for an hour. Love beautiful food!

Snacktime – found some Pellegrino

IMG_3571 (640x427)

Then watched Top Chef’s Ryan Scott make a frittata sandwich

IMG_3573 (640x427)

IMG_3577 (640x427)

He found the mushrooms!

IMG_3580 (640x427)

IMG_3583 (427x640)

IMG_3586 (640x427)

IMG_3576 (640x427)

IMG_3597 (640x427)

I had one bite, but it was oniony 🙁

IMG_3579 (640x427)

At noon the doors opened for a beautiful seated lunch

IMG_3607 (640x427)

IMG_3622 (640x427)

Wine country! These were St. Supery – one of my favorite wineries! Merlot, Cab + Sauv Blanc. I liked them all and despite my hangover, they tasted good 😉

IMG_3616 (640x427)

IMG_3614 (640x427)

We ran into Danica of Danica’s Daily!!

IMG_3613 (640x427)

I pass some Nasoya coupons around the table 🙂

IMG_3605 (640x427)

Green Olive rustic roll – fab. I ate about 3/4 of him.

IMG_3624 (640x427)

Lunch began with a Salad Nicoise that was fabulous! I could have just eaten more of this and been happy.

IMG_3619 (640x427)

IMG_3625 (640x427)

Our lunch entertainment was Rocco Disprito!

IMG_3629 (640x427)

He did some cooking demos while we munched

IMG_3632 (640x427)

IMG_3633 (640x427)

For lunch we sampled some of Bertollis frozen dishes.

The Lemon Herb Shrimp –

IMG_3636 (640x427)

IMG_3635 (640x427)

It was not my favorite (didn’t finish my pile). I didn’t care for the sauce too much (or strong garlicky / onion taste)

IMG_3637 (640x427)

Next some Meat Lasagna Rustica arrived

IMG_3640 (640x427)

We all agreed this one was much better!

IMG_3642 (640x427)

Lastly, Tri Color Cheese Ravoili, which seemed pretty heavy for lunch! I had one bite, and it wasn’t bad! Lasagna was my favorite though and I’m not a lasagna person either.

IMG_3646 (640x427)

I had had my eye on these frosted cupcakes all morning (HI MOM!!!)

IMG_3603 (427x640)

So I knew I wanted a taste for dessert.

IMG_3604 (640x427)

Pillsbury had a whole topping buffet to go along with their new easy squirt frosting

IMG_3650 (640x427)

I took a chocolate cookie and tried the three flavors – with coconut and sprinkles! I ate mostly the icing and left the cookie base. Always on the hunt for a means to deliver icing!

IMG_3649 (640x427)

However, the Milk Chocolate Mocha Caramel Pana Cotta to end the lunch. I am not a Pana Cotta fan, so I hadn’t planned on eating any, but I couldn’t resist a taste. It was actually pretty good! I had two bites and the kettle corn and was stuffed.

IMG_3652 (640x427)

As you’d probably guess, I’m uncomfortably full right now. I though I did a good job just taking a few bites of each thing and not finishing my portion, but having such rich foods for lunch is tough on the stomach!

Why the delay in blogging today? Because I forgot my USB port to upload my photos! But just a while ago I discovered that my laptop actually has an SD card slot!!!!! SAVED THE DAY!

IMG_3570 (640x427)

I am sitting through a lesson on Advanced Food Photography and need to pay attention about White Balance. See you tonight. Hoping not to drink more than a drink so I can feel better tomorrow.
