Behind The Scenes

Foodblog (10 of 15) this !

^^He’s so into dandelions these days!

I have my phone set up so that every photo I take gets auto-uploaded to Dropbox and then auto-imported into Lightroom. This keeps me organized so that I can then sort photos to either upload for the blog or download to my Mazen folder. When I open Lightroom every few days, I never know what I’m going to find! Here are some of those photos – a glance behind the scenes!

Playing airport after breakfast:

Watching a huge truck back out of Matt’s new brewery:

Alarm set for Thursday morning athletic conditioning. We jump around so the inside joke is we’re the 6am dance team!

Foodblog (11 of 15)

Post-class the next morning. Red faced and drenched!

Foodblog (12 of 15)

That night I also went to pick-up soccer. Two intense workouts in one day and I need a rest!

Foodblog (13 of 15)

A well-loved Yoga Tune-Up ball. Perfect for car back massages.

Foodblog (7 of 15)

Post-soccer bubble bath!!

Foodblog (14 of 15)

Started the new Nicolas Sparks book:

Foodblog (8 of 15)

Not from my phone, but I am furious I did not know there was a silent disco downtown last night!!

Foodblog (9 of 15)

Finally, this morning’s coffee. Topped with a mountain of foam!

What’s the most random thing you photographed this week?!

I have a random question! How do you clean your sisal rug? Can they be vacuumed without being damaged? The size I’d like would be too large to shake out. Also, do you find it “sheds”? In the market for a different area rug….thanks!!!

I just vacuum and spot clean it. No shredding thus far.

Love seeing the airport being used!

I photographed my fingernails so you could see them, since someone stopped me to tell me how wonderful the color is (which is the color you suggested). I guess fingers aren’t that random though, as I would hate to lose mine.

My 3-year old is really into dandelions these days too! She wants to pick any “flower” she sees. My most random photo this week was probably the Sweet Frog frozen yogurt truck- my daughter has only ever eaten there three times in her life, but she’s obsessed with the sign and the frogs, so I saved it to show her.

I’m so curious , do you have a cleaning person? Your house always looks so clean? If so how often? Do you do a general clean up daily?

I do have a monthly person, but I also am constantly tidying. Don’t like clutter!

Silent disco looks fun! 🙂 You’re killing the workouts Kath. Are Nicholas Spark’s books worth reading? Which is your favorite?

Yes I love them all. They are simple and sometimes cheesy but still good! The Notebook is my all-time favorite. I really liked The Longest Ride too.

That portable sauna reminds me of an “I Love Lucy” episode!
The most random thing I photographed this week was a screenshot of the incredible sale on bedding I found at Macy’s.com. Yay for clearance!

That’s awesome you’re so disciplined with your workouts. I love working out first thing! Do you have Mazen those mornings? If so, do you wake him that early and put him in the childcare? I hate waking sleeping children, and would love your take on it! 🙂

The crazy organizing part of me is totally in love with how you organize your alarms on your phone…nerdy question alert though: Why do you choose to end them on 26 minutes versus 30?

Leave it to me to notice quirky numbers! 😉

Hey Kath – looks like lots of spring fun for y’all!!

Curious since we have kiddos about the same age – would you mind sharing what your daily schedule is with Mazen in an upcoming post? I’m in a real ditch with my and Claire’s schedule here lately — resulting in some tears, missed workouts and very loooonng aimless periods in the day. While I’m a proponent of a healthy chunk of aimless play at home, too much of it bores both of us! Also, she’s on the cusp of dropping the midday nap completely, but is often a nap-risk in the car in the afternoon. Can tend to throw the afternoon and evening off. Just wondering what other mamas are doing!

    Thanks!
    Melanie

Long periods of time at home can be boring for us both too! We only do that one afternoon a week (for the downtime) and try to stay busy the other ones. We always have a morning activity – either preschool, the gym or somewhere fun like the Discovery Museum and then afternoons are either playdates, park dates, or Matt/sitter has him and plans fun activities too. Dropping the nap will open up your day so much!

Thanks! Yes, I’m looking forward to naps being completely done. The in limbo is killin’ me! I like consistency!
