You know the drill: you do so well cleaning out your fridge that it’s bare as can be upon return. What’s a girl to do?
Pull a Rush bowl from the freezer!
This is sample number two from my batch for review – the Acai au Lait bowl with organic vanilla soy milk, acai berries, strawberries, and cherries with the granola packet on top (see the first here: Rushed!)
"Cooking" took all of 60 seconds. I liked the berry flavor a lot! And who doesn’t love a smoothie that doesn’t dirty up your blender
I added half a container of Oikos for a bit more protein and a blob of the infamous crunchy Nuttzo.
Bigelow Pumpkin Spice tea because we are out of milk for coffee!
I’m off to a busy day of meetings, but a fun lunch we’ve been planning to look forward to!
Have a great day!
That looks yummy Kath! Have a great day!
Courtney (The Hungry Yogini) says
Those look so good!! Gonna have to try one when I get back to the states. No S-I-A-B in Paris 😉 No smoothies really I think. Ohh how I miss some of the food back home!
Have a great day!
That looks like a great breakfast in a pinch!
I also always do a great job of emptying the fridge but then get frustrated when I get home to it..
Best wishes for an exciting day back at your internship!
Jessica @ How Sweet It Is says
The Rush bowl looks really good! Never heard of it.
Mara @ What's for Dinner? says
I’ve never seen anything like those smoothie bowls… I’m definitely going to look out for them!
I love the idea of Rush bowls but haven’t seen them anywhere. Where did you get yours?!
Sarah (Running to Slow Things Down) says
Can’t wait to see where you guys are headed for lunch. 😀
The breakfast bowl this morning is absolutely adorable!!!
Marisa (Loser for Life) says
What a great item! I’ve never seen those, but it looks delicious. Especially with all your yummy toppings. No need for junky food when you can grab something like that!
Thats an interesting breakfast but a pretty good one considering you had no food! Whenever I go away on trips I always try to plan for the day back and get at least something to carry me through until I get to grocery shopping– doesn’t always happen though and then I’m stuck. Good think you had a good back up!
Heather @ Health, Happiness, and Hope says
These smoothies are seriously amazing Kath! It’s such a great idea for students or workers in a rush. Enjoy your busy day!!!
Simply Life says

I love the pumpkin spice tea — the smell isn’t quite like pumpkin pie, but it tastes delish! 😀
I’ve never heard of Rush before. That looks really nifty!
i have a smoothie for breakfast as well, but mine dirtied up my blender 🙂
Julie @savvyeats says
Mmmm… pumpkin spice tea! I take it that is a seasonal tea that would be difficult to find right now? 🙁
Freya @ foodfitnessandfreya.wordpress.com says
That looks surprisingly good for a ready meal! Did it keep you full?
Yes, it did. I got really hungry a few hours later, but then it went away!
Shannon (The Daily Balance) says
looks quite yummy! so nice to have wholesome, healthy “no-fuss” options on hand!
[email protected] says
That looks so good. Where do we buy them?
Nice convenient breakfast!
haha I know how you feel though, it’s so great to be able to leave a clean fridge, but not so great to return to one after a trip! 🙂
Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg says
Looks like a quick, easy meal!
At least when you have an empty fridge, it means that a FUN restocking trip to the grocery store is in order! Love that!
The Paris Food Blague says
looks simple and yummy! welcome home!
I am all for a smoothie that doesn’t turn the kitchen upside down. However, I just can’t stomach a smoothie until it is blazing hot outside.
Hope you have a good day!
Julie @ Peanut Butter Fingers says
i’m in the same boat right now w/ eating meals comprised of random stuff i have leftover. i need a trip to the grocery ASAP!
Hope you have a great day!
A perfect day for that Rush bowl and it looks delicious! There really are no excuses for not eating a complete and healthy breakfast when it’s ready so quickly!
Lauren @ Eater not a runner says
That looks so good, and nuttzo makes everything better!
Sophie @ yumventures says
What a great idea for a smoothie, also so you don’t wake your significant other with a blender at 6:30 am 🙂
I love the idea of blender-free smoothies…do you know where you can buy them?? My roommates aer not psyched when I blast the world’s loudest blender at 6am.
Heather (Heather's Dish) says
I love those! I actually found out about them from your review a while back…and went to WF and got the acai au lait! soooooo delish 🙂
Love the bowl and coordinating spoon!! So cute! and that Rush bowl does look delish.
What a cute play on words for the Rush bowl name!
That looks like a great item to have in the freezer for times like those! I am currently sipping on pumpkin spice tea as well and it’s delicious. Can’t wait to hear about lunch!
Mae @ OhhMay says
Its nice to have something in the freezer to come home to. I always have frozen soups around thanks to you Kath!!! I also like to keep a container of frozen steel cut oats for mornings when the kitchen is too messy to use the stove, or the counters are being sealed.
i love that zebra looking bowl!
Love the zebra look.
Janna (Just Flourishing) says
Your breakfast looks very similar to my breakfast. But mine dirtied up the blender 🙂 Wishing I added some nut butter to mine! Next time 🙂
Casey (@Spicy&Sweet) says
LOVE the bowl + spoon, Kath!! Super cute! 🙂
I love how much granola is in the little packet that comes with it. YUM. I still have 1 or 2 in the freezer =) I tried to post a comment yesterday but I’m not sure it went through. Your day looked so fun yesterday!!! We need to plan a girls weekend trip somewhere fun…seeing your adventures in NYC made me want a vaca! However…I think I need a j.o.b. first! =P

That looks really good, and easy!
Mary (Food Fit & Fun) says
that looks like a very easy, delicious breakfast! Enjoy your day!
There’s an article on NYC Grub Street on NY Mag about the PIMENTO CHEESE trend taknig the nation (i mean…the city). Thought you’d be itnerested!
Angela (The Lady Loves to Eat) says
the rush bowl is cool it’s easy and quiet, I can’t use my blender in the morning when the husbands sleeping because its so loud!
Deva (Voracious Vorilee) says
That looks like a tasty and quick empty-fridge breakfast. So pretty, too.
Kim M. says
I had the exact same thing for breakfast yesterday! Minus the Oikos and Nuttzo 🙁
I think the Acai and Power bowls are the two best flavors. How do you feel about the sugar content in them?
Since it’s mostly fruit sugar, I feel fine. I wouldn’t like added sugar.
Allison K says
I could totally use those Rush bowls on some mornings! Looks great!
Jessica @ The Process of Healing says
Those rush bowls are such a great idea!!!! Are they available in grocery stores?
Ash @ Good Taste. Healthy Me says
I’ve been trying to find pumpkin spice tea!! I’ve been dying to try it and can’t seem to find it anywhere! 🙁

I need to find this pumpkin spice tea!
Barbara(Blood, Sweat and Heels) says
Now i need to go watch the “Jungle Book” just to hear that song:)
that rush bowl looks delicious! i’m a med student and dont get a lunch break, so having something like this with me would be so great! i know you said last time to say if we were interested in you getting them in your open sky store, and i definitely am!! especially the beach bowl—that one sounds SO SO GOOD!!!
OMG– I want those Rush Bowls! I went to their site and I’m disappointed that they don’t sell online 🙁 I’ll have to search our local Whole Foods to see if they sell them. I don’t own a blender, just a submersion blender, so these would totally come in handy!
My Rush bowl was a sample sent to me, but I know they are in select Whole Foods. I bet it’s only a matter of time until they are widely available.
liz at imsheddingthefatsuit says
that nutzo sounds fab.
