Aggro Crag

I waited all night for this!!

IMG_4103 (427x640)I

Overnight oats with PB2 sauce + cranberry + Kashi heart to heart

Last night I soaked 1/3 cup raw rolled oats in 1/3 cup 2% milk and half a container of Oikos (all I had left) plus a pinch of salt, a tbsp chia seeds and half a banana leftover from breakfast.

This AM I added 1/3 cup Kashi H2H Warm Cinnamon, Chelsea‘s Cranberry Jam and a PB2 sauce.

IMG_4091 (640x427)

I’m still on the fence about PB2. It is not even close to the taste of peanut butter…but it does make a cool sauce. But that sauce isn’t "uh-amazing" or anything. It’s kind of bland, I think. I do love it stirred into  yogurt for peanut butter mousse though!

IMG_4076 (640x427)

With a glug of milk…

IMG_4082 (640x427)

Thanks for the jam Chels!! It tastes just like cranberry sauce, which I lurve.

IMG_4081 (640x427)

chia seeds take overnight oats to a whole new level

IMG_4097 (640x427)

So does coffee

IMG_4085 (640x427)

Crazy froth today (and crazy photos – I couldn’t get a clear one!? Maybe I was shaking?)

Today’s featured reading is the Aggro Crag from GUTS! Back to you Mo!

IMG_4090 (640x427)

My french press has been enjoying all of the attention lately so he asked to come back!

IMG_4083 (640x427)

Today I’ll be enjoying the training of a ServSafe class all day

this !

[I want more breakfast!]

When PB2 first came out it was AMAZING! The texture was identical to natural PB, but then they changed the recipe and now it doesn’t even taste like PB anymore! 🙁 I think they took even more fat out of it and made it finer. It used to be perfect though, gritty and tasted like actual ground peanuts. Now it’s like, what the heck is that supposed to be? lol I hate when recipes change for the worst. 😕

I totally agree with you on the PB2. It has a certain appeal, but it really doesn’t taste all that much like real PB. I mostly use it to top my cereals with a sprinkling or mix it in with plain yogurt.

That cranberry addition looks SO good on your oats!

I myself love Pb2 in the sense I can get peanut butter for less calories. I know it doesn’t compare to the real thing however it does hit the spot when you have to have that fix and you don’t want to blow your calories.

That looks tremendously appetizing. I’ve been trying to think of ways to get nice breakfasts that are somewhat warm and filling for when I get back to the dorms on Monday and overnight oats are something I think I’m going to try. I used to eat the PB2 but I talked to one of my professors about it and she said something along the lines of “something has to be lost in order for the fat to be decreased like that.” She guessed E vitamins or other healthy components of fat. Otherwise the stuff didn’t taste too bad to me.

I am with you on the PB2, but I discovered adding a few drops of vanilla stevia makes it a lot richer. It’s lacking the richness since the fat has been removed. I like the idea of it being lower in fat though. I do think it perfect for adding peanut butter flavor to things without too much fat. Nice bowl of oats!

Oooh glad you are giving PB2 another shot. I MICROWAVE mine before I put it on my oatmeal – I find that heating it brings out a little more of the PB flavor. I do 30 seconds, stir, 30 more seconds, stir, final 30 seconds stir (and add a bit more water if needed in between). Try that on oatmeal and see what you think!!
