A-Tisket, A-Tasket

I have a new bike basket!

Root beer floats were fun, although we only had 11 people take them in 2 hours 🙁 I had fun chatting with the EarthFare community coordinator about oatmeal recipes and different health products

 this !
The husband showed up at the very end and bought a float, so I got to taste one!

I also picked up a few groceries (watermelon!!) in my new totally awesome bike basket! I did a ton of research last week and chose this basket. It easily snaps off the handle bars and turns into a grocery basket! Since I will use it for groceries most of the time, it was the perfect fit.

In the store –

Snapped on –

Dinner tonight was a mystery recipe (I promise I really am wrapping up the last handful of them!!). While it turned out great, the procedure didn’t go well and there was some arguing in the kitchen. Never a good thing for a marriage! But this recipe was very unique, and I really liked it. So much I ate too fast!

When I was on roll 4 of 5 I said “I’m not even the slightest bit full!” but then the minute I swallowed my last bite – uggg. I need to slooooow down with my eating. I’ve been eating faster again and I’m not sure why.

Goodnight 🙂

So cute that you got a bike basket!
I just inquired about a bike on Craigslist…hopefully it’ll work out! Do you know what size your bike is? I have no idea what size to get and I’m 5’2″ like you, so thought I’d ask 🙂

All these mystery dishes look delicious…wish I could tell what was in them!

Love the bike basket. If you don’t mind me asking, where did you find it? Thanks!

It’s funny you mention you have been eating faster. I noticed that I have been eating faster since I started my blog. I think it is because I have more variety of foods on my plate and it just makes me want to really want to gobble everything up!

I love the basket, what a great idea. I think it is wonderful that you bike to your daily errands instead of driving – if I didn’t have a little one in tow I would probably do the same since gas prices are so high. Happy biking!!

I did the same thing with my dinner tonight – ate way too fast. I was definitely feeling the effects later on during my jog… any tips on slowing down?

Love the basket. It’s so hip looking 🙂

Mystery dinner looks so good. I can’t wait until these recipes come out!

awesome basket! i wanted one like that for my mom this summer but the store didn’t have any instock so i got a different model (that doesn’t snap in and out easily :() now that she’s away again, i use her bike on occasion to pick up a few groceries (if i’m getting a lot, i’ll take my bike, which has a rack and panniers that hold way more). so convenient! i’ll usually just throw a cloth bag in, use that for shopping and put the bag and all its contents in the basket to ride home. makes me feel very retro.

Okay girlies, this is completely off topic but I feel like we have formed a kind of community here with our interests in fitness and eating. I need some advice on how to make friends. I moved to a new state three years ago (Colorado) and have made lots of friends. Unfortunately, many have recently moved away and many have been made through boyfriends who I am no longer with… I have a boyfriend now, but need to make some girlfriends of my own. I have explored “meetup.com” and joined a book club there, but does anyone else have suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Justy2003 ,
    Mine’s a “24” women’s bike.”

Foodie (Fab and Delicious Food) ,
Amazon – I liked to it in the post.

    Melissa ,
I struggle with making friends too since we don’t have kids, living in that young of a neighborhood or go to a church or other organization. My best advice: start a blog!

    Melissa,
I don’t know much about Colorado but I live in DC where everyone seems to be pretty obsessed with kickball and kickball leagues. My friends and I joined and met a TON of people. Look up to see if they have something similar in your area.

Thanks Lisa and Kath. Kath- I think that I will start a blog as I am a huge “foodie” and travel all over the world for work so it may be interesting. We will see… It involves a lot of eating accountability…

Remember to keep in mind how much more you are exercising now that you have your new bike! Of course your appetite is going to spike and you will find yourself eating more than usual.

LOVE the basket! I can’t wait to get one for my bike. Great idea. 😉
