A Taste Of Paradox

IMG_1880-2

Good eveeeening! It was pizza night in our house!!!

IMG_1885-2

Karen proclaimed it to be “A rockin’ meal!”

IMG_1881-2

Whole wheat crust, homemade tomato sauce base, shitake mushrooms from our favorite local market vendor, North Cove Mushrooms, plus pepper from our garden and lots of cheese.

IMG_1883-2

[Bitter bolted] garden salad on the side! With a homemade dressing made from 1/4 cup black cherry balsamic (from the Boston Olive Oil Co), 2-3 tbsp olive oil, 1/4 tsp salt, 1 tsp honey, 1 heaping tsp dijon mustard and 1/2 tsp dried rosemary.

IMG_1884-2

IMG_1879

This afternoon I snacked on a ripe nectarine and half a Hungry Bar!

IMG_1878-2

And to end our day, we shared dessert from Cville’s newest sweets bakery, Paradox Pastry. Matt went by this afternoon to say hello and welcome them to the bakery bunch and bought dessert.

IMG_1893

We split this amazing peanut butter mousse tort 3 ways. With peanut crumble on top and a peanut crust!

So You Think You Can Dance is on tonight!! Yay!

That pizza looks so good! We keep trying to make pizza dough and it ends up so tough. Definitely need to do some experimenting with it!

And having fancy dessert after a nice homemade meal is one of my favorite things!

Do you use regular tomato sauce or reduce it somehow? I often have trouble with those being too watery on pizza but yours looks great.

Btw just boughtyaelf a new skip hop diaper bag in grey chevron design and thought of you 🙂

our home made sauce is really thick, but we definitely have reduced sauces in a jar… or reduced fresh tomatoes with seasonings
