A Cherry On Top

IMG_0939

We leave for the beach on Thursday and I have lots of food to eat in that fridge of ours! Yogurt included.

IMG_0933

I made a bowl mixed of Oikos, banana, chia, granola, sunflower butter and local cherries from Steadfast Farm.

Scoop

I did have to set the stems and pits aside on my napkin, but it wasn’t a big deal to include the cherries. They are one of my favorite fruits!

Happy Monday!

We picked up some cherries at the market yesterday. We all love them, especially my son, so I have had to ration them. He has a plan to buy 10 bags at the store when they are in season! My daughter picked out a Veggie Pizza Flip from Great Harvest. Is this something you guys are making? They told me that they aren’t selling them in the store/bakery, just at the markets for now. Have a magnificent Monday!

It’s labeled as Italian herbed foccacia stuffed with tomato and mozzarella cheese. Similar to a calzone shape, just the bread folded with cheese and tomatoes inside not sealed like a calzone. I sent some in my son and daughter’s lunches and saved a small piece to try with lunch.

No, we didn’t see any spiders, but we did see a 6 ft alligator swim by in the lagoon one night beneath the screen porch we were relaxing on! Yikes! Talk about creepy! And my husband saw 6 gators on the golf course.

    Hi Kath:
What are your thoughts regarding cherries and pesticides? I’ve heard that growers use a lot of pesticides on cherries, and for that reason I usually avoid them.

[If you didn’t know, I’d just wash really well. Washing well (with soap) should get rid of a lot of them – harder with a berry like strawberries that couldn’t handle soap with their delicate skin)

Love the Great Harvest mug. I live and die for their bread. I don’t visit our Nashville store as often as I should because I get my bread from the grocery stores that carry it, but I do love venturing into the store for some bread and real butter, and an amazing cookie if I’m lucky.
