S.O.S.

My gosh, so many technical difficulties. So KERF was super slow today so I decided to chat with BlueHost to see what was up. I was then told that my blog had been “throttled” because it was slowing down the whole server due to some script errors. And that apparently my blog has been slowing down the server for months and they are quite tired of the complaints.

My response was: “So you turn the power off without even sending a bill!?” Gosh, an email would have been nice. Some time for me to fix the problem!? Instead of just shutting me down!? C’mon BlueHost, have some decency.

Good ole ZestyCook deserves a huge shout out for all of his help and support. I swear, I would probably be blogless without him. He and his pal Joe, who is a genius too. At first we thought I’d been hacked. We were going to risk everything and update WordPress to the latest (I’m a bit behind on that) but after some more Joe consulting, Zest decided that I really just need my own server. A $200/month server. Um, that’s not in the budget. At all. Not sure what’s going to happen, but I sure hope the problems are fix at least for the time being. Thank you Zesty!

So this was all going on while my great husband made dinner #3 of the week: a navy bean + squash + cilantro pesto + tomato skillet hash. (Totally morphed from the gratin we had planned tonight)

It was awesome.

IMG_9977 (1024x768)

Served with a half slice of Great Harvest Blue Cheese Walnut Bread (a local specialty the boys created)

IMG_9979 (1024x768)

And more Tazo iced tea

IMG_9976 (1024x768) (2)

After dinner, we headed out to Nolan Kitchen to join our friends for a summer $2 beer special!

Caitlin, Kate, Allison, Amanda and Diana

IMG_9986 (1024x768)

I had a Blue Moon, but wish I’d gotten wine. But wine was 4-5x as expensive! I couldn’t justify it.

IMG_9981 (1024x768)

Matt snapped this photo. I never see myself from the side. I can’t believe this is what I look like!

IMG_9982 (1024x768)

Diana let me play with her Canon Rebel. OMG, I have to have one. Birthday countdown: 2 months and some days! We took pretty salad photos of Diana’s dinner. Here’s one with my camera. Head over to The Chic Life to see hers!

Coming into the garage tonight I almost stepped on a huge brown roach. Today is not my day 😥

At least the Eye-Fi finally started working again.

Goodnight everyone.

    Hey Kath,

I LOOOOOVE my Canon EOS Rebel. That is what I use to take all the pics on my site. Highly recommend it. I’ll save you some time and research, Amazon was the best price. Ryan is the KING of researching price comparisons. 🙂

Looks like you are really enjoying your summer. Take care.

Awwww bummer about the server issues – technical difficulties are seriously one of the most annoying thing on earth because you feel so helpless! I bet dinner and drinks was a great way to get your mind off of it though 🙂 Blue moon is my favorite beer! Have a great (and roach free) night! 😀

    I hate my profile too.

And now you have me paranoid about my host. My site has been going down a lot lately. I wonder if I did something wrong somewhere along the line…

Sorry to hear about all the connection issues. That’s terrible about BlueHost! Hope everything works out for you!

What a yummy dinner! And I just have to say that your necklace looks gorgeous. Is that from Africa?

I’m curious, how do you make your tea, both iced and normal? I’m never good at making my own and usually choose bottled versions, but I think it’s mostly because I have no idea how to make it!

We love our Rebel, it’s almost all that I use now 🙂

The connection issues sound terrible and I hope that everything gets worked out painlessly and inexpensively.

And can I say that your dinner looks fantastic – cucumbers in any salad make it better.

    Yummy eats!

That’s totally lame what your host did. We have several dedicated servers and we’d be TICKED off if they throttled our bandwidth without notice. You can get a dedicated server (e.g., your own) for MUCH less than $200 a month with more bandwidth than even Google would need. Feel free to hit me up if you need some solutions, we’re in the biz! 🙂

You should have said, “I can’t believe I am this smoking hot.” That would have been awesome. You can still edit it and say it. Wait, that might crash your server.

Totally not cool for them to just shut you down like that. So unprofessional to not at least give you a heads up. I hope all is fixed now.

I love how Matt cooks for you and it’s healthy. Hunni likes healthy food but is not a great cook. Unless it can get thrown in a pan and cook itself we end up with salad or chicken burgers. Not that I mind most days because that at least gives me a night off. He wants to take a cooking class when he finally has time.

In the meantime, you should eat more of that amazing sounding bread. For me, because I’m not anywhere near it. 😀
