Let’s do a day in the life! Here’s a recent random Tuesday!

^^ I think I need a new Yeti cup!
Day In The Life
I was brainstorming blog topics and a day in the life style post popped into my brain. Can you believe our whole blogs used to be days in the life!? When I talk to bloggers of the 00’s, we all say it was both the best and worst of times. It wasn’t easy to blog three times a day, but it was SO SIMPLE. So here we go – a random Tuesday!
Wake up at 6:26
Yep, still the same time as always! I recently got a Hatch Restore 3 and am obsessed with the sunrise and sunset features. I really do wake up easier with the sunrise even though it was still pitch black outside. I also love the birds and flutes song that quietly plays.

Make a quick cup of coffee!
I’ve been team Nespresso since moving into my townhouse. It’s so quick and easy, and I love the froth on top. This machine is over 10 years old and still going! (Apparently my cup is too, haha.)

Wake up sleepyhead
I love to crawl in Birch’s bed and wake him up slowly. He usually wakes up pretty quickly. I help him make his bed.

Getting dressed
He likes to come in my room while I get ready.

Autobrush
I also recently got an Autobrush to try to help my receding gums. It’s great overall, and it’s so fast! It also has blue and red lights built in – red LEDs help support gum care, while blue LEDs can enhance whitening. The only problem I can’t solve is how to clean your tongue?! So I still use my other toothbrush for a quick second run through.

Kitchen Tasks!
Put toast in toaster for boys. Love my Wonder Oven!

Empty dishwasher.

Pull lunches from fridge. I packed them the night before.

Coats on!
Mazen is always five minutes behind us.

Double drop off complete!

Breakfast
On Tuesdays, I head home and do breakfast. On Mon + Wed, I pack a breakfast and go straight to the gym and work in the café a little before my 9:30 class.

I received these Evergreen whole wheat waffles as a sample, and they are great! Very wholesome tasting. I love them with peanut butter vs butter + syrup. Half a grapefruit on the side!

Work time
I did computer things and then photographed my pantry for the pantry post coming up. And then started that post.

Late morning I showered and did my skincare + makeup and met my friend Maddie at Grit for tea and a catch up.

Late lunch
The tea held me over to closer to 1:00 when I made a salad with Fishwife tuna and Sun Chips on top.

More work
Back to the computer for more work! That little heater is essential to keep my mouse hand warm.

4:30pm Gym class
Team Tuesday circuit class! It’s the most fun one of the week.

Lobby guy
Mazen walked from school to the gym where we met up. He went swimming in the indoor warm pool during my class. Once his ribs heal, I’m trying to convince him to actually come to the class. There are some other teens that come.

Gussie Boy
I usually pick up Birch at 5:15 from school, but he had his first indoor soccer practice, which Thomas took him to as the coach, so Mazen and I picked up Birch from Gus’s house! He recently had surgery (hence the vest) but thank goodness it wasn’t cancer.

Family dinner!

Mazen and I love this chicken parm from Wegmans. It’s one of their gold pan meals that you just put in the oven for 20-something minutes. I served it over arugula and with noodles that Birch ate.

Evening grind
On weeknights, I do a lot of tasks in the evening so we have a super easy morning out the door.
Prep food
Make tomorrow’s lunches and my breakfast – overnight oats with PB and frozen berries.

Clean entire kitchen, including dinner dishes
Plus, each child had some ice cream.

Playing while I clean up:

Put away laundry while Birch showers

Evening skincare for me!

Book time
This book has been great to read together.

Reading time
I tucked in Mazen and then got in bed myself. I’m midway through The Housemaid and LOVING IT! My Hatch is now in night mode playing me a sound bath before my sunset starts.

Great to see A Day In The Life again Kath!! I noticed we have the same sheets and you are going to love The Housemaid!! Freida has two ‘follow up’ books….The Housemaid’s Secret and The Housemaid Is Watching….both are great. I have been obsessed with Freida….LOL
Kath Younger says
Someone told me the second book was terrible – but you disagree?! I would read more! I loved both the book and movie!!
Erika says
The second one is not as good but still worth a read. The third one is not worth it. The movie was also pretty good.
Kath Younger says
Good to know!

Love a good “old fashioned” day in the life post!

Hi Kath. I was curious about the autobrush. How did you come across this? Was it recommended by your dentist? Looks like something my sister could benefit from. She has problems with dental hygiene. Thanks.
Kath Younger says
I received it as a sample to try. I have receding gums, so I thought it might be a good option. I think based on how my teeth feel after, it really does clean very well. I don’t love that it doesn’t brush my tongue, and I don’t love that it requires a specific toothpaste, but in terms of how it works and the lights, etc. I am impressed!
Janice Przybyl says
Thanks for that info!
Stephanie says
Does Gus no longer live with you guys? I must have missed that. Looks like a great day all in all!
Kath Younger says
He lives with Thomas! (In case you missed it: Through The Rainbow)
