A good ole Emerson quote in honor of Earth Week!!
My latest green move was getting a countertop compost and putting it into action. I used to hate walking across the dewy grass in the morning and sadly my banana peels and coffee grounds ended up in the trash despite the fact that we have a compost pile at the edge of our yard. Unacceptable Kath! I knew a countertop compost was the answer> – it just took me a while to finally get one.
I ordered the bamboo countertop compost pail I have for sale in my OpenSky store (naturally 🙂 )
It’s been going REALLY well!! We store it under the built-in desk next to our paper recycling and just whip it out in the AM. No smells (other than coffee!) and Matt empties and rinses it once a week (sometimes twice).
Here’s a video I made about it a while ago – forgot to post it then but now’s as good a time as any!
OpenSky is doing their own Earth Week celebration. 15% of all OpenSky’s profits will be donated to Waterkeeper Alliance, an organization dedicated to preserving and protecting water from polluters! Three cheers for cleaner waters.
Also, if you purchase any of the green products from this page during Earth Week, you’ll receive a complimentary storybook featuring us sellers and be entered to win free beauty set from Sweet P’s in the fragrance of your choice. The gift set includes an Organic Sun Block, Hand & Body Wash, Therapeutic Bath Salts, Organic Hand & Body Lotion & Hand & Body Whip – all organic, toxic-free and packaged in recycled materials 🙂
What would Earth Week be without OATMEAL!? Green oatmeal!
I had my Helper Monkey to prepare breakfast (and do the dishes!) for me today
- 1/3 cup oats
- Lots of water + milk
- 1/2 banana
- Pinch salt
- 1/2 tbsp chia seeds
- Crumbled Great Harvest Blueberry Oatbran Muffin
- Barney Butter globs
- Pecans (my latest obsession)
It’s official – my leg has an injury. It hurts way more than a minor twinge. I’m pretty sure it’s my hamstring.
Rest + ice. Rest + ice. Rest + ice. Rest + ice. Rest + ice. Rest + ice. Rest + ice.
Have a great day folks!
