Umbrella..Ella..Ella..Ella

Did some MAJOR hauling of items this morning. I’ll give y’all a video tour of everything when I’m 100% organized.

Here are items I am Craig’s-listing

My beloved stereo I hauled from Hillsborough to 4 dorm rooms to our apartment to our house. Sorry, guy, everything is digital now :( Maybe some teenager would like it for Christmas?

IMG_9490 (640x427)

Our first piece of furniture that isn’t sturdy enough to cross state lines. It’s free for whoever comes to pick it up!

IMG_9491 (427x640)

Our cappuccino maker. It’s missing the carafe since we broke it too many times and converted to French press. It’s in perfect condition though! Hoping to make a few dollars off of this one..

IMG_9439 (640x427)

After organizing, I went for a SPEEDY run. I had lots of energy to burst out the door into the mist. Might have needed an umbrella..ella..ella..ella. I ran for speed today and completed 4 miles in 33:43. It’s amazing what some heart-pumping dance music will do

Splits:

  • 8:15
  • 8:14
  • 8:43 (crossed a street)
  • 8:22

Whatcha say!?

I wasn’t really that hungry for lunch, but I had to eat or I’d probably get starving during my back-to-back classes.

I put together a quesadilla with our last tortilla, the last half cup of curry chicken lentil dal and some shredded cheese -

IMG_9504 (640x427)

And a wimpy spinach salad – spinach + carrots + almonds drizzled with EVOO and agave

IMG_9508 (640x427)

IMG_9501 (640x427)

IMG_9500 (640x427)

And I’m late because I had to make dinner!!

To class I go!

those are some nice items you’re putting on craigslist! I’m sure they will make somebody very happy :)

yay for the crockpot – aren’t they the best??

I’m making curry chicken tonight too but I’m totally cheating…using a Trader Joe’s simmer sauce. But better than takeout, right? Hope class goes quickly…looks like you’ve accomplished a lot already today! (Me, notsomuch, but to be fair it is only 10:30 for me).

Sometimes craigslist is a real lifesaver. I hope you can unload some of your extra stuff!

I still have a stereo like that in my bedroom at home. Remember when they were soooo cool?? I have such a hard time parting with it!

6 Chloe (Naturally Frugal) November 23, 2009 at 1:37 pm

I have that same stereo! We barely use it, but it still works for the radio & odd CD’s that we have lying around. I think the next time we move I’m going to take a note from you – organize, throw away, sell, and ORGANIZE. I am such a packrat and really need to start anew.
Also – that piece of furniture is gorgeous – too bad I live in Seattle or I would definitely head on over to pick it up!

Aww what a beautiful piece of furniture! If I lived close by, I would be all over it :-) Good luck with the rest of your cleaning!

Whats in the crockpot?????

I like the title of this post…my dog’s name is Ella, and we always sing that song to her :-)

hey kath – great job on your monday run! i did 4.5 this morning and it’s kept me energized so far! i emailed back and forth with you a few months ago when you were considering jacksonville as a location for a great harvest franchise (congrats on that, btw!). sorry you’re not coming to jax but i think you’ll do great in charlottesville! anyways, just wanted to let you know that me and my running buddies are coming to charlotte for the thunder road marathon next month (though we’re only doing the half…). we’re super excited to run in cooler weather and to get to visit Trader Joe’s (it’ll be my first time!). we’re going to be staying at the Westin downtown and are planning on our pre-race pizza dinner at Brixx – i think there’s a location downtown? maybe we’ll even get to hit up Great Harvest! wish us luck!!!

I would love to take that piece of furniture off your hands! Wish I lived closer. I think AZ is too far away though, he he. ;) You have inspired me to get rid of my similar stereo too. I don’t know why we still have it? So, did you take the picture of your cappuccino maker at 12:26 on purpose or was that a weird coincidence, ha ha ha.

I’m about to do some Fall cleaning and put stuff on Craig’s List, too! We have been accumulating WAY too much stuff.

You should put that cabinet on http://www.freecycle.org — it’s a site for people that are giving things away and/or looking for free stuff, usually locally.

Hopefully you can make a little $$$ off of your goods. Although it takes a lot of time and effort to go through everything, it’s worth it when everything is organized, you get rid of the “junk” you never use that’s just taking up space, AND you can make extra cash!

Love your simple lunch!

Georgeous food.
I would like to know your opinion on eggs. On a lot of blogs I have noticed that people use the egg whites only, or one-egg and some whites. I usually have 2 eggs + 2 whites or more, simply because they are fairly low calorie and I want to bulk up the protein portion of the plate (my other meals all tend to be very vegan and nearly protein-deficient). I do snack on nuts and nut butters often though. Thanks for any thought on that.

Did you see the AMAs last night? ( Just connecting the title associated with rhianna, so wondered if you enjoyed her performance…I was bit disapointed ).

Just curious, what brand of tortilla do you use? I want to find one without trans fats, and that looks like a good size one too.

Thanks!

Abbys,
Yes!! My parents live right on Churton! I grew up stompin’ all around that town!

rhodeygirl + Melissa,
Total coincidence!! GOOD CATCH!!

Bethany,
Oh fun!!! I know a few others coming to town – maybe we could do a big Brixx dinner? I’m free that weekend! Send me an email if you’re interested. I might run in the 5K.

Valerie,
My opinion: eggs are great – yolk and all. Unless you are watching your cholesterol or eat a TON of animal products (like are a big guy who eats steak for breakfast) EAT THE WHOLE EGG! And love that delicious yolk.

Megan,
This guy was Trader Joe’s, which has great tortilla options. I also eat Garden of Eatin’ and Ezekiel ones.

Emily + Marisa,
It’s not on Craigslist yet – I gotta do the entry. I’ll hold off a few days on the dresser to give you guys a chance to email me if you’re really interested. It’s a bit wobbly, but just needs some more nails in the back!

in love with nut butters.
i’m wondering if
you could possibly post (or e-mail) a list somewhere
of the ones you’ve tried.
i’d love to get your opinion on the best ones!

Alison,
Yes, I should do a list on the Q+A page! My favorites are Barney Butter, Maranatha, Costco PB and all things Naturally Nutty (esp. the vanilla almond butter – to die for!). The Nuttzo is also really fun, and I loved the honey roasted freshly ground my sister let me try in Boston. Futter Butter’s hazelnut butter is also really good, but takes a bit to acquire the taste :)
