Another great visit to Boston is underway!!
Of course Matt had some say in the sightseeing since he missed last year’s trip, so first stop: Harpoon!
The format of this tour was “all you can drink’” in two 15 minute intervals. We drank all we could!!
Well, actually I didn’t
I handed off a lot of my pours after a sip or two so I could try another one. We did a lot of sharing too. My favorites were the UFO White (orangy!) and the Blonde Bock (a special)
I probably had the equiv. of a pint or a pint and a half at the very most?
After our tour we were surprisingly not too tipsy
We went home to change before meeting Lauren, Tina + Mal for a light dinner before the blog meet-up.
We decided on b.good, with a motto of Real Food fast!
Since we had appetizers at our blog event, I ordered a salad for dinner – the Southwestern with corn, avocado, beans, chicken, tomatoes and BBQ sauce.
Kanz got a veggie burger!
And Matt ordered sweet potato fries for the table, which were baked and sooooo good!!!! I had about 5
Froggin’s!
Awesome Tina organized a group event at Vinalia Restaurant + Lounge downtown. We had a group of 22, and had a fantastic time!
I ordered a glass of white wine (I was thirsty more than anything!). I finished it pretty quickly but was fine with water for the night – and a sip of Elina’s fabulous red!
Then the food started to appear!!!!
Pizzas, calamari, nachos and mussels!
I did a good bit of nibbling tonight, mostly because the food just screamed “eat me!!” coming out complimentary! I had probably 2 slivers of pizza, some crust, ~5 mussels and a few bites of nachos. I never felt full, but I also feel like I did eat too much overall since it was pretty rich. The food was great though, and tasted good!
We ended with a group photo, of course! Thanks to all of you ladies who came tonight! It was wonderful to meet you all, and I wish we’d had more time to talk one on one. Hope to see you all Summit Weekend too!
My feet HURT!! I don’t mine walking around cities at all, but I do not do well in heels – large or small. We’ve got a few sprinkles outside now, but we’re hoping it clears up before the morning.
I’ve almost been up for 24 hours – nite!!!!

What a great start to the weekend!
Looks like you all had such fun!
How fun!!! Hope we can meet up when you’re here
Thanks to you and Tina for putting together the event, it was a lot of fun and such a great group! It was very nice to meet you, enjoy the rest of your weekend in Boston (and bring those warm temps up here anytime!)
And, that is my favorite salad at b.good.
I love going to Harpoon! Yum, we can walk there from our house. And they are awesome with the free charity events they do which makes me love them more
Haha, I had the same exact salad before going to Vinalia. It’s my favorite
Good to see you again, Kath! Enjoy Boston + Cambridge this weekend, and I’ll see you at the summit next month.
Haha, I’m not a heel girl either. Why render yourself unable to walk?!
Great food, great company, great city!! Hope you continue to have a great trip!!!!
Yay for b.good! There was one right by my apartment when I lived in Boston, loved that place.
Looks like you guys had a blast – I’m so glad!
I remember reading about your trip to beantown last year! I can’t believe how fast time flies…I went to b.good after I finished the Boston marathon in April. My BBQ chicken sandwich and chocolate milkshake tasted like the best thing I ever ate! Hehe. Enjoy the weekend!
looks like the start of a fabulous weekend! it’s amazing how these blogger meetups keep growing in size! i love it. you need to come visit nyc!
Hi Kath
I’ve been a bum this week and only caught a few of your posts but didn’t realize you were in Boston. I’m sure you already have your weekend planned (i missed out on the blogger dinner too apparently) I am hoping I’ll get to meet up with you ladies when you’re here for the summit. Have a great time here…it’s too bad I didn’t read sooner so I could have met you
Enjoy!!
Sounds like you’re having a wonderful time. What a fun group to get together, and the food looks great! Enjoy your Saturday!
so much fun and delicious food, too!
Have a great rest of your weekend!
Go soak your fee tin some hot water. It REALLY helps! Glad to hear you’re having fun in Boston. I love it there.
P.S. In that pic of you and Matt at the wine tasting. Matt looks exactly like my friend Spencer. Sorry for the random comment but I literally had to do a picture double-take! Craziness!!
I had such a great time meeting you all last night! THANK YOU to you and Tina for putting this together. I hope the rest of your Boston trip is a blast!
One of my favorite things about Boston is that Harpoon is on tap EVERYWHERE. Their IPA is great. Ask Matt if he agrees, since I know he likes IPAs. Keep on having fun Kath!
Glad you’re enjoying Boston! Sorry my RSVP turned out to be false – some stuff came up at the last minute. Too bad – looks like it was a great meetup!
All you can drink in two 15 minute intervals?? Crazy!
Wow, the blogger meet-up looks like it was fun!
Wearing heels is like training for a marathon. You gotta work your way up, not start by running a 5K. Wear heels for short periods a week or two before you’re going to need to wear them out. Give your legs and feet the chance to get used to them so it not such a shock.
Looks like you had an awesome time. The beer tasting tour sounds like my kind of fun
Great to meet you last night! I hear you about heels–between working from home and wanting to walk everywhere, I no longer wear them very often. It’s always a shock to my poor feet when I do
Local beers really make for great insight into the “flavor’ of a city – especially one with such a great history. If you’re ever in Chicago, be sure to head out to Goose Island Brewery. Then for some Belgian Ale Tasting, get over the the Hopleaf bar on Clark.
Aww that looked like such a fun meet-up!
