It’s Tuesday – you know what that means!!
A day off
I don’t really feel that I have earned or needed a day off on Tuesday – I’d rather it be Thursday – but with my dance class and a lighter bakery traffic, it makes sense. I’m actually going to be working on a few things from home this morning.
In Tuesday’s honor, I made pancakes!
And by “made” I mean I reheated a few of Sunday’s batch under the broiler for a few minutes until they were warm and crispy!
Topped with Nat Nutty Vanilla Almond Butter, frozen blackberries that I thawed in a pot and Cville Cluster!
Tazo Awake to drink! I think my mom rekindled my love for hot tea (she drinks like 5 cups a day!)
There is only one thing I want to do today: WHOLE FOODS!

YAY!! Day off!! Enjoy it!!!!
Are you looking for snack ideas at whole foods?
Great idea sticking the pancakes under the broiler! I’ve done them in the toasted but under the broiler you could toast toppings on them too! Oven-carmelized bananas?!
Looks like your day is off to an excellent start! Those pancakes look SO GOOD! Mmmmm…
Whole Foods really does sound like the perfect Tuesday activity- enjoy it!
I wish I could have reheated my GH Cville pancakes from Sunday but we ate them all!!
They were seriously so good.
Have fun at Whole Foods and enjoy your day off (I totally know what you mean about wanting it to be later in the week. I usually coast through pretty well Monday – Wednesday but by Thursday I’m more than ready for a day off!)
I’m going to have to try the broiler idea. Genius! Microwave pancakes just aren’t the same.
You have the best plates/bowls/cups. Period.
I love that blue dish! And all this pancake action on your blog has made me really want pancakes – I’m already plotting them for Friday morning!
Happy day off, enjoy!
Yum! This look wonderful! Have fun on your whole foods trip.
I want to live vicariously through you Kath – I heart Whole Foods and would go every day if I could!
Enjoy your day off! That napkin/placemat is super cute!!! Is it one from your grandmother?
mom!
That her grandmother bought–part of a seven towel set.
Enjoy your day off!
Your linens are just too cute! You didn’t make that one yourself, did you?
Oh no
Now that is a great way to start your day off! Enjoy it Kath!
Tuesday is a quiet bakery day? Do you know why it’s Tuesdays that are quiet?
I’m yet to try it, but it makes them real crispy apparently
I’ve heard that pancakes are awesome put in a toaster for a while
Have a great dance class!
Mon-Wed is quiet all throughout the foodservice industry
Yum! Seeing your pancakes is making me want to make some for lunch!
I don’t know if you know this but Tuesdays are horrible – so the fact that you get a day off on Tuesday just makes that your life rocks. FOr real.
Having a day off on Tuesday must have made Monday so much more tolerable! Enjoy WF!
Mmmm..any day that includes WF is my kind of day!
Ooh my mother in law just brought me home a tin full of Irish Breakfast Tea from Ireland! You have inspired me to try one today – yum.
Enjoy your day off – and whole foods!
Good to know that you can use leftover pancakes that way!
You have the cutest dish collection! Enjoy your day off!
I’m not much of a tea fan, but Tazo Awake is my absolute favorite! It’s so bold but smooth and Lordy knows I can always use an extra shove into being awake in the mornings
Yum! Enjoy your day off
Hooray for spontaneous days off! And what is the story behind that adorable napkin??
My mom brought me a whole set of antique days of the week!
Hope you have a great day off — WF included
Yay for a day off!
Oh I just love Whole Foods! Enjoy!
That food and tea look amazing!
Your pancake pictures are giving me a major hankering. Yum!
tuesday is a good day to have off – makes monday more bearable?!?
I want to go to Whole Foods, too!!
If only Charlotte would get crackin’ on getting our WF up and running… c’mon Spring ’12!
The pancakes look delicious!!
Looks yummy, yummy! I love your little kitchen towel. It’s so cute!
Your pancakes look divine. I did pancakes this morning too-spelt cinnamon pancakes with bananas and blueberries. Enjoy your day off!
I love Tazo teas. I drink Calm all the time.
I prefer it hot, too, even on 100+ days.
Enjoy your much needed day off.
Those pancakes look amazing. How did your husband make them again? Have you thought about selling some of your bakery items online, such as via etsy? I would love to buy some of your items and to be able to pick and choose which items I want instead of a bundle on OpenSky. Love your blog!
They are from the Great Harvest pancake mix. We are hoping to do online ordering in the future – not sure when though
Your little tea towel is adorable. Gosh, you have the BEST towels, placemats, etc! Enjoy your day off and Whole Foods
A day that involves Whole Foods is bound to be a great day!
Wow. And now I am inspired to recommence the embroidery I was last obsessed with at age 10. Glad you have a day off. You earned it.
Yay for days off! I have the day off tomorrow and I also plan on pancakes and Whole Foods
Those pancakes look fabulous! Happy day off and enjoy your dance class!
Whole Foods would be something I would LOVE to do today, but I would have to drive 2 hours to get there, ha!
Have a great day off!!
I’m going to make your “Crunchy Buckwheat Granola” when the weather cools down from the 90′s, and I was wondering if you have the nutritional information on your recipe?
I don’t have the nutr. info, but you can plug it into a recipe calculator
Where do you get your dishes from?
I really need to start presenting my food in nicer ways and then I should stop to appreciate it more as I’ll have taken time to prepare and present it.
You have the approach to food I would love to have. How do you do it ?
All around! This one was Crate + Barrel – a wedding gift
Hot tea makes the heart happy
My mother got me completely off coffee and now all I drink is tea. Mothers have super powers.
I have a dinner date at Wholefoods tonight- cannot wait!
Whole Foods is like an adult play land. I think I need to make pancakes for dinner one of these nights… I have been craving breakfast for dinner!
you ALWAYS use the cutest dishes and silverware (: your presentation is always spot on.
(YAY!!!!) for your day off!!
Enjoy it to the fullest! I’m going to Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s on Thursday and can’t wait. It’s such an event for me since I don’t live hardly close enough to go on a regular basis.
Craving pancakes…
I absolutely adore day of the week napkins! I have two sets that have been passed down in my family. Both are ‘chore’ sets. One is of animals doing different chores and the other is of a cute little fat lady doing different chores. Does anyone have any good recommendations for tough /old stains? One set looks pretty rough.
I had pretty good luck with the Shaklee Nature Bright: http://katheats.myshaklee.com/us/en/products.php?sku=00305
Enjoy your day off – and pancakes are a great way to start IMO!
Breakfast looks delicious and that placemat is so cute!
Broiled pancakes! What a great way to start the day!
I totally agree–leisurely grocery shopping on a day off is the most amazing thing ever. I don’t understand people who hate grocery shopping; it combines shopping and food, two of the most awesome things ever.
Hope you have a wonderful day off! Whole Foods and pancakes sound like an award-winning combo
If you have a toaster, try reheating leftover pancakes in that. It uses far less electricity than an oven’s broiler. Just a friendly tip!
Also – pancakes freeze really well, making for homemade, nutritious “eggos”.
That is such a good idea to stick them under the broiler – I hate microwaved pancake leftovers.
Enjoy your day off!
The only thing I want to do is quit my job, fly to America, and beg you for that breakfast…
have a great day off!
if you have a etsy link to that lovely towel i’d appreciate the link.
thanks
Ooooohhh leftover pancakes! I’ve never thought of making extra for leftovers, but it’s a really good idea!
My days off can be so sporadic so I relish in them and relax as much as possible. Although somehow that seems to go to the wayside and I end up doing a bunch of errands! At least this weekend I’ll be going up to Maine for my days off.
Vacationland indeed.
