Three nights of local food + fun with Tim!!
I gotta say though, I’m ready for a salad and some beans tomorrow
I’ve been eating “normally” while out, but I miss my kitchen a bit! I opened the fridge and didn’t remember what was inside!
After we wrapped up at the bakery, I biked home, got myself into one hot sweaty mess and took a freezing cold shower.
New night, new dress.
We decided to take Tim into the Virginia countryside to eat amongst the mountains, so he could feel more at home from the Montana Mountain state
Of course Matt’s ulterior motive was just to lead him straight to the local beer!
Blue Mountain Brewery recently added this awesome outdoor seating area. We are three for three on perfect patio meals this week too!!
We split a bottle of the Mandolin to start – our favorite Blue Mountain beer
I only had one glass and let the boys keep on ordering and took over the drive home.
To start – nachos!
A bit cheesy + a lot chippy. Onion salsa on the side. We ended up pouring the pureed salsa on top though, which made ‘em more flavorful
For dinner we ordered salads to start
With the most amazing blackberry dressing!!! It was like my favorite JAM topping on a salad!!
And the reason we all came..
I mean:
I mean:
Hard choice!! We split the Mediterranean pizza. Delicious! I had 3 square and could have kept on chompin.
Picking out onions is not a favorite pastime of mine (the kitchen was not very thorough in the request to leave them off)
Tim was into the cheese plate so we ordered that for dessert.
I left the bread + meats to the boys and dug into the BURRIES!!! And had some of the other fruit and smoked cheeses.
Boy is our house hot and sweaty right now! It was a super hot day. I worked in the office and then stepped outside for a walk with Allie mid afternoon and came back drenched!
Matt and I have to get up and go in early to make sandwiches for a special radio thing we’re doing, so I’m hoping to get in bed early. Otherwise, tomorrow is a light day – and I get to eat lunch at home!

That beer and pizza looks phenomenal! Please ship your local beer. And by the way…that dress is a keeper!
i want to try pumpkin oats for the first time, but i don’t want to use banana or sugar
what are your sugestions for this first-timer?…how much pumpkin should i add?
What a beautiful dress!
mmm pizza and beer! I can’t wait until its warm enough here for an al fresco dinner like that!
Best wishes for your radio spot!
We went to Blue Mountain Brewery last Sunday on our brief visit to Cville (we also drove past GH!). The view was spectacular and the beer tastey (I had the sampler). What a great way to spend an afternoon (or evening) with friends.
I love your shoes! Food looks so yummy! I can relate to missing the kitchen after a few days eating out. I feel the same way when I travel even if I’m indulging in delicious foods
That pizza looks great and the cheese plate is so pretty!
WOW that all looks good! Easily the most impressive ‘cheese plate’ I’ve ever seen. I’ve gotta move, we have nothing like that here in Indiana
Wow the pizza and the cheese plate look like the best part of the meal, yum.
woow. dress is looking beautiful. i like.
Very cute dress today!
The pizza looks amazing — and how nice of you to be the sober cab
I love that dress! Looks great on you! And I love the idea of a cheese plate for desert! Especially the berries….sweet and healthy way to end the night!
That pizza looks spectacular! The crust looks perfectly thin and crispy!
You look so cute!
You look gorgeous! And I’ve always wanted to try a cheese plate!
That dress is too cute! And oh MAN that food looks delicious. That cheese plate is taking my breath away…YUM.
Aw, this looks like such a pleasant evening out. I’m so glad you’ve been having such fun week entertaining out! Oh, and that pizza looks soooo good!
I know you just said your house is hot and sweaty, but … I’m kind of jealous? My husband likes to have the a/c on all the time and to me, it’s just not summer without the windows open. I guess I have a higher tolerance for the heat!
Enjoy your light day tomorrow – and your lunch at home!
You ARE SO PRETTY!!!!
Aw, shucks
cute dress, Kath! you look great!
Mmm….all looks divine! Wish I could get me some of that blackberry dressing.
that cheese plate looks amazing!! love your dress
The crust on that pizza looks amazing! It is so hot in Atlanta right now! How did it get so hot so fast? Sleep well tonight!
I love that dress, it was made for you! I agree, you are VERY pretty!
Ok, your photos makes everything look sooo amaazing!
Looks like a wonderful night full of great eats!!
I love how Matt is ten steps ahead en route to the beer
haha i was going to say how funny that is too!
I love the new dress Kath! I have a sort of dress-like outfit that color and i love that color! especially for us “fairer” girls. You’re right, those are all hard choices.
i LOVE a jammy dressing. why don’t i add more jam to my homemade ones?!?
Looks like a beautiful meal!
I am a huge fan of creative pizzas- although the other members of my family mostly stick to pepperoni and cheese. So much for healthy toppings!
Your dress is super cute & very flattering on your figure, I also love the color! Oh, and the cheese plate looks amazing
Have fun and good luck at the radio shindig!
I want to walk with YOU AND ALLIE!! How fun!!
“amazing blackberry dressing!!! It was like my favorite JAM topping on a salad!!”— I have a sudden craving for that and want to try that with the strawberry jam in my fridge!
And you in that purple dress..Kath, you look amazing! Dare I say, Matt better keep you under lock and key b/c you’re turning heads in that lil number, I can guarantee it
The Brewery has a very cool patio setting!
I love nachos! Speaking of jalapenos, since they are on your nachos… My husband and I ate a whole jalapeno together last night–just for the sheer fun of it! It was quite funny & hot in the mouth
The blackberry dressing on your salad looks phenomenal! I would love it!
We love pizza in our household, and that pizza looks so delish! I wish I could have a piece right now

thats a gorgeous place to eat dinner. You have it so good in charlostville! looks like another fun meal and i love the color on you too!
That pizza looks incredible!
I love that dress too! It’s hard to find summer appropriate dresses when you are blessed in the um… chest area. Where’s it from? It’s cute!
I got it at a clothing swap. The tag says Brooklyn Industries
Love the bright colors you wear.
Holy pizza…God, I love it. There is just no way to stop after 3 squares – I need your resolve. The crust looks awesome.
Looks so good! I <3 Pizza
The cheese plate!!!!! I would have ordered that as my entire meal
I’ve been wondering, why do you not like onions? Is it because it makes your breath funky? I like the flavor of onions but sometimes raw onions can hurt my tummy
It’s the breath + the taste. I could probably handle one or the other if I liked one, but I hate both so it’s a double whammy
Oh man that pizza looks SO good. I shouldn’t be looking at those kinda pics before bed…now I’m hungry!
Love the dress AND the necklace. also want to know the source/store!
The necklace was a gift from my mom – buttons. The dress is Brooklyn Industries from a clothing swap
Hi Kath,
I’m so excited to see the bakery up and running! Best of luck to you & Matt!
Holy crow that pizza looks fantastic! That cheese plate was just about as idealistic as could be. I do love eating on a good patio.
Okay, this looks like the best meal ever. Someone would have needed to wheelbarrow me home if I had been there. I can’t be contained with that much cheese and bread around. YUUUUUM.
Jam salad dressing…must try! Even though it’s super hot I’m now craving pumpkin butter dressing. Mmm!
I still can’t believe you got ALL that cute clothes from the swap. Great color on you.
Everything looks delicious but er I think I missed something: you poured the onion salsa on the chips????????? Keyword, of course, being onions!
Haha, no. I should have been more clear – there was another salsa on the backside that was more like tomato sauce and that’s the one we used
mmmm I had pizza tonight too
Dinner looks great, from start to finish!
Good luck on the radio!
Love how well-matched your dress and necklace are!
Pizza and beer are always delicious!!
I’ve had a lot of cheese plates in Spain…but nothing that HUGE!!!
Ahhh PIZZA! You just reminded me we are makin it for dinner and now I am SUPER excited!
Aw, Kath you look so pretty in that dress! Pink is totally your color!
I must echo everyone else’s comments…. the dress is lovely! I could never pull off that color, but you look adorable!
Yep, me too! You look super cute in that dress (and I’m still loving your nail polish!)
Thank you everyone!!
Did you blog during your weight loss period? I would love to read that!
I didn’t – I was already at goal when I started the blog.
Love that dress!! And that dinner looks amazing. Looks like a gorgeous setting.
That pizza really looks amazing! I would probably pick the onions off too! I’m not a fan of onions on pizza! I love that dress on you! You look beautiful!
That cheese plate looks amazing! I think I would have been tempted to order that as my main meal!
That area looks just beautiful! I love your dress, too. It fits you perfectly. It has a really flattering cut to it. I take it you don’t like onions. I think there just something that you either love or hate. I happen to love them! I would have had extra on my slice.
They finished the patio! Last time I went I saw the makings of a great place to hang out instead of just the side of the building! Good to know – looks like I will be heading there soon
That pizza looks phenomenal (though boo they didn’t really come through with your no-onion request) and the setting is just perfect!
My household is divided… I love BMB but my boyfriend loves the Backbone! This means we usually end up visiting both on our way to his mom’s house, such a tragedy
I could have sworn that BMB’s nachos came on one of those metal plates right out of the oven and not in a bowl… hmm… I guess this means I will just have to go out there soon and try them again!
P.S. The article about GH in The Hook was great! Maybe I’ll try to pop in tomorrow while I’m running around town
I haven’t read the article yet – but it looked great!!
That dress is so pretty on you!
That cheese and fruit plate is SO beautiful! And the pizza looks YUMMY!
It was SO hot here last night, too. Ugh. Humidity!
Holy cheese plate, Batman! Love it!
That first picture is stunning. Love the headband, the necklace and that dress!
I’ve always wanted to order a cheese plate for dessert but have never had the stomach room left! That is the biggest cheese plate I’ve ever seen! Yum!
my, you are very into self-control and love showing it off! great job!
