Their Country Loved

September 11, 2011

O beautiful for heroes proved In liberating strife,

Who more than self their country loved

And mercy more than life!

America! America!

God shed His grace on thee,
And crown thy good with brotherhood [and sisterhood]
From sea to shining sea.

September 11 is always an emotional day to remember. This morning I took a moment to honor + salute.

Never forget!
I’m looking at you pictures of a smoothie in a bowl while I eat mine with peanut butter puffs on top. Must be that kind of morning!

It is a very emotional day. The coverage on tv is difficult to watch.

Your breakfast looks amazing! Must go make myself a smoothie. :)

Thinking back to 9/11 gives me chills. My family had just moved to the Middle East about 1 week prior and I remember coming home from school to find my mum watching TV. I thought it was a movie, but it turned out it was the news. God bless all the families of those involved.

And on a happier note, welcome home bears!

Good Luck with the move! :) I spend my morning glued to the TV watching the 9/11 service at the new Memorial. It was so heart breaking. It never gets easier to watch it.. 10 years later.

It must be a little upsetting/disorienting for the bears to be moving almost as soon as they get back! You may have to promise them their very own room in the new house.

I told them they were getting their own room. I hope I didn’t overstep, but they are very excited!

I love the understated nature of this post…. so many blessings and thoughts with all those who lost someone, but also a moment to remember the difficult things that happen all over the world.
Life is such a blessing and yet filled with so many struggles… xox

I tried the chocolate and peanut butter puffins and I think my heart is with the chocolate ones. They have the most delicious cocoa flavor compared to the peanut butter which seem to have an underlying corn taste.

And I dig the 1st picture with the sunlight and the way you can just “feel” the sunlight in that pic.

Kath, reading your tribute was a great way to start off the day. It inspired me to write a little tribute, as well.

Wishing you luck on your packing AND just wanted to thank you for your tribute to oatmeal (I just got a killer cold and your oatmeal inspired my comfort food dinner last night!)

Kath- You set such a GREAT example of how to slow down and appreciate a moment, appreciate a meal… It is not so easy to do these days considering the ultra busy lives we all lead! Thank you for reminding us all how important it is to stop, enjoy and trudge right on though all we need to do with ease and grace! Good luck again with your move!
