The Running Roll

June 19, 2009

Mowing the lawn was so easy today because I left the bag off the mower and let the clippings just fall. I didn’t even notice them! Granted the grass wasn’t that long, but boy did I waste a lot of time in the past emptying that bag!

I finished in record time and had more energy so I went on a short 3.5 mile run out our neighborhood and back. It was a wonderful run until I hit a crack and had another flying lesson!! But luckily I landed in the grass, rolled, and kept running all in one motion. It was kinda like this:

Fall

Once home I was going to do Yoga For Runners but Matt texted to say he was getting off early and we could leave early! So I’ve been rushing around ever since.

I whipped up some leftovers for lunch -

Chicken + Cilantro Pesto + Laughing Cow on one slice of Flax Oat Bran folded in half

A mixed greens salad with leftover zucchini + squash (and the last of the chicken that wouldn’t fit on the sandwich) tossed in pesto and dressed in lemon juice and olive oil

And the last of the ‘loupe!

We’re hittin’ the road to Savannah!! I am SO EXCITED about our B&B tonight. We haven’t been away just the two of us on a trip since our wedding!

Blogger Summit Announcement, in case you missed it!!!!

See y’all late tonight!

Have a good time- which B & B are you in? The one I stayed in was LOVELY! Downtown Sav is beautiful but remember it’s just the downtown and the surrounding neighborhood. The rest of Sav is Wal-Mart, ugly spraw, chain restuarants. It breaks my heart to say it but it’s true =(

the picture of the roll is great. i needed a laugh. (sorry it was at your expense) all of the bread you eat always looks so yummy. my dad has lived in savannah for almost 20 years. we go all the time, make sure you take a stroll down river street. if you stand in the center of one of the squares on the river and talk, it echoes. its awesome and a must. :o )

Nice artwork!

LOVE pesto and now I’m totally jonesin’ for some…

Enjoy Savannah – if you do open a bakery there I’d def come down and check it out. Especially in March, I heard Savannah’s awesomely nutty for St. Patrick’s Day!

we are required to mulch our grass clippings. it IS so much easier.

love your drawing. flying is fun, as long as it doesn’t end with scraped knees when you land.
enjoy your weekend! just the two of us trips are the best.

Does Kath like to run in her birthday suit!? Just kidding! Cute drawing, but it looks like you’re either wearing a full length nude-coloured leotard or nothing at all! How saucy …!

35 Bev June 19, 2009 at 3:38 pm

We always keep bag off. sometimes we have to go over twice to mulch it :)

Awesome re-cap graphics ;) All I can picture now is Pee Wee Herman doing his bike jump, rolling into a standing position, brusing himself off, and saying “I meant to do that”

Have an awesome trip!

SAV FOOD SUGGESTION!- Jazz’d in downtown, Broughton Street- delish, inventive tapas that are large portions. Cool, hip atmosphere with live music- but make sure you don’t sit too near the band. Is a bit loud. The waiters are SO friendly.

There’s also a place on Drayton/Barnard that serves South African food- real good!
AVOID Tantra Lounge- the service sucks!

Stroll (or run) around Forsyth Park and wander around the Mansion hotel- GORGE art. Act like you are thinking of getting a hotel room and they’ll show you a SWEET place. Murphy’s (Irish) has good food too.

And if I may say so, please take more trips, just the two of you! Of course work and obligations must be coordinated, but to me, there are few things more romantic than enjoying a new setting with your honey =)

Man, I have had so many weird running falls over the years, but I have NEVER mastered the fall-roll-keep running move. I must try harder!

I just discovered your blog and am completely hooked. I want to cook everything you post about! Keep up the GREAT work.

p.s. you and your husband are very cute. : )
