As the fog and rain poured in, we bloggers gathered together again.
But first, a quick cocktail hour with Mr. Blogstalker himself, my friend Nate! He’s here on business this weekend and came to the hotel to greet us. Lovely to have a mini Charlotte reunion with Diana too!
Then we headed out!
Alexia sponsored tonight’s event, so there were French fries growing out of all cracks and cervices. I liked the herby ones the best –
In the ballroom, we were served vino – two kinds
And started in on a number of appetizers – from butternut squash risotto cakes to veggie empanadas
The hit of the evening was Tyler Florence, who came to do a food demonstration. The Autumn Spiced Pork he made looked quite good, but to be totally honest, I wished there could have been some blogger interaction here. Shouldn’t a Foodbuzz member have led the cooking demo!? So many talented bloggers to choose from.
The salad course – with candied nuts and bleu cheese – was my favorite
Tonight I was a Pescatarian, so instead of beef I got double shrimp! It was served alongside a celery root puree and buttered veg
Cleanse the palate –
The last three bites of my weekend were a Cowgirl Creamery cheesecake
A Scarffen Berger chocolate mousse
And my favorite, Sourdough Bread Pudding
I’m having one of those "I never want to eat rich food again" moments because I feel so full. Feed me smoothies, fruit, sweet potatoes, spinach and simple oatmeal upon my return home. My stomach needs a real food cleanse!
Sadly Larbs and I have to miss the brunch tomorrow to catch an early flight. It was a short but sweet trip.

I always get that feeling after a few rich meals- all looks yum though!
It was super cool to meet you at the taste pavilion today. BTW I’m pretty sure you were standing next to me as I mispronounced “cinnamon” after a few wine tastes while discussing the cupcakes. Congrats on the award wins too!
You too Karen!
So great to meet you, Kath! I was so full after the tasting pavilion that I knew I would never ever eat anything ever again. Until dinner, that is.
Likewise!
Thanks so much for posting the photos. The food at this event looks great! Glad you’ve had lots of fun at SF. Have a safe trip home!
I absolutely love sushi!
Have a safe trip home!
P.S. Hopefully, you got your <3 heart <3 back

Short and sweet, sometimes that’s the way it goes and glad you were able to attend. And win something
Scarffen Berger chocolate mousse…whoa, that must have been great along with bread pudding. Love bread pudding so much.
A cooking demo with Tyler…sounds cool! I saw people posting pics on Instagram!
Looks like it was a fun time- congrats on the awards!
What a totally awesome weekend that looked. So much yummy food to try and enjoy. I am so impressed you still manage to post so many blogs. Well done and looking forward to the next post, as always.
Haha I would feel that way too, but it’s so fun to eat delicious food like that every once in a while!
I know that feeling!! There’s nothing like waking up to a deliciously fresh smoothie after a few indulgences.
Looks like fun!!
Love Scharffen Berger chocolate for baking. The cocoa powder is great too.
Love the recaps! Sounds like you had a blast!
Haha I definitely know that feeling! I’m glad that it was such a good trip – it looked delicious down to the very last bite! Safe travels home
Sounds like you ended on a delicious note. Have a safe flight home!
I feel the same way after a lot of indulging… but getting to eat so much good food is always so worth it!
Wow! It really was quite the foodie weekend! I am impressed with all the delicious fare! I too would be feeling bloated after all that richer than normal indulgences…I agree with Chelsea…once in a while it is worth it…besides…your active and healthy lifestyle will have you back in the swing of things!
that’s how I inevitably feel after every business trip. Hope the fridge is stocked with veggies for you when you get home
Woah! Definetly an amazing trip! Looks fantastic
I love your dress – very pretty!! Gotta love indulgent foods every so often, but I know the feeling of only ever wanting veggies again afterward!
Food looked great, but I agree, give me whole clean foods over rich foods any day. When you eat clean most of the time, it is amazing how “rich” rich foods can be. I know how I feel after a decadent meal, I cannot imagine how sluggish it would feel to eat that way all the time. People who don’t eat healthy don’t know what they are missing…energy!
Have a safe trip home.
mm everything looks amazing…and filling!! I love having days where I eat lots of rich food, but I always love going back to my typical eats
i love alexia sweet potato tater tots. yummmm!
looks like an amazing dinner. safe travels home
I always feel like that after a period of traveling, when I eat out a lot. I always crave salads and plain veg! Haha
Eventually you crave the rich stuff again though
I saw the film Farmageddon and heard Joel Salatin talk afterwards, missed you! It may have been short but it’s time to come home now!
Wow, the Foodbuzz Festival sounds like one delicious experience! Glad you had a great time, Kath! I’m drooling over that chocolate mousse.
cute sis
Nice choice of words: “short but sweet.”
I am determined to experience sourdough bread pudding now.
I feel the same way after my indulgent dinner last night. Enjoying a smoothie as I type this!
How fun! Least you got some running in to help temper the vacation fullness and gain. What an awesome time. And thank you for sharing. Would love to have seen Tyler Florence!
I would have been pleased to have a culinary expert do the demo – it’s a learning opportunity for bloggers!
Great pics and I need a cleanse too after all the indulging!
I don’t know how I would have chosen from those desserts, each one sounded even better than the last. WOW- oh wow do I want a taste of each!
Real food cleanse starts today for me too. I am looking forward to some simple ingredient cooking this week! What a great weekend, so glad I got a chance to catch up with you!
Is your sister wearing your new boots?
Haha no, those are hers she came with!
The trip may have been short but it looks like you made the most of it! Travel safe!
I agree with you on the Tyler Florence thing. I think they should have had a blogger interaction up there too. It’s a food blogger event! lol. I’m sure it was still awesome seeing him though.
Glad you had another fun trip to SF.
Yay for Nate! Bring back the blogstalker, bring back the blogstalker!
I have really enjoyed your recaps of the weekend. I had actually decided that San Fran was not the place for me, but now I’m ready to try again!
That looks like such a cool event! I think it was pretty cool that you saw Tyler Florence!
That bread pudding would have stolen the show for me!!
Haha, there should be a warning before coming to your blog: DO NOT VISIT IF YOU ARE HUNGRY! So many amazing food photos.
And that blue dress you’re wearing looks fabulous!
Loved living vicariously through your recaps
this is a personal question from having just found your blog and i’ve been reading your past posts as well. how do you define “healthy living”? i ask because you have won the award. i know physical appearance isn’t necessarily the indication of healthy living but seeing as i have noticed the changes in your body from last year’s posts to this year’s, i just wonder what you have to say about that.
i hope you are not offended by my question.
I may have gained some weight in the past few years, thanks to love for beer, peanut butter and Great Harvest, but that doesn’t make me any less of a healthy living blogger. It’s all about intention – a strive for treating the body well, and you can do that whether you’re at an ideal weight or with lots to lose.
Well said Kath.
I’m not the ‘jen’ that asked this question (and I never would), but I just have to say that Kath you wrote such a thoughtful response (where most people would get angry). I think you look healthy, great and it’s nice to see a woman with curves who looks her age. You own yourself
thanks for your reply. your meals mirror mine in many ways but i’ve gained weight over the last year as well so i was wondering what you had to say about it, since i noticed a similar pattern in you as well. i wasn’t trying to attack you and was genuinely asking you about your definition of healthy living.
i feel like i’m saying all of this more for the sake of everyone else, who got unnecessarily riled up and felt they had to defend you.
thanks again, kath. you seem more real and relatable so i wanted to comment no your blog, that’s all. i’ll keep following your blog.
I think Kath looks stronger if anything and it’s most likely due to her Body Pump classes. I mean, she wears pretty form fitting clothes, so you can clearly see that she isn’t sporting a gut or love handles. She looks great! If you just look at a standard week of Kath’s meals and exercise schedule, there is no way in hell that you could say she doesn’t live a healthy lifestyle.
You just found this blog yet you are comparing last year’s photos to this year’s? Okay.
Angela, simmer down…you sound ridiculous. Kath did fine responding without your help. I think the question was valid as was Kath’s anwer. A “changed” body does not equal BAD and as Kath reasonably pointed out striving to live healthfully can occur at any size.
Kath, you definitely look like a real woman should look, strong, healthy, and happy. You always seem to glow in pictures, like you love living your life! I enjoy your blog so much because you are able to live such a “healthy” lifestyle and maintain a “healthy” weight while still enjoying life. Thanks for being so inspiring. Well said about treating your body well, women need to remember to respect their bodies (including their minds and hearts) each and every day and make taking care of ourselves and being happy a priority.
Thanks so much Katie
mmmm looks tasty!
Kath,
I am so excited I got to hear you speak this weekend! You are such an inspiration for me and my little blogger dreams! BTW I totally digged on the pescatarian meal last night as well! I absolutely fell in love with that celery root puree! Totally yumm-ilicious!
Thanks so much!
Shrimp is one of my favorite foods, but unfortunately it’s also a food that is nowhere to be found in college dining halls! So sad. There’s only so much chicken a person can eat! I can’t wait to cook for myself after I graduate
I love your outfit!!! You dress so cute.
Good point about Tyler — but the Autumn Spiced Pork sounds fantastic. I hear you about the rich food break…those kinds of events and eating are so much fun, but in limited quantities! While everything else looked awesome, you can’t beat those final bites. YUM!
Mmmm…. the dessert looks delicious. And while I love Tyler Florence, I agree with you, it would have showed more togetherness had a blogger led the demonstration.
I must know…. where did Larbs get that dress? Kath, where did you get yours as well? I love them both!
I’m not sure about hers, but I got mine at a clothing swap!
It was so nice catching up with you, Larbs, and Nate!
Ditto!! wish we could have played more!
