Good morning! We’re lucky that the storms passed pretty uneventfully last night and I woke up to this glorious scene of pretty summer shadows : )
I mixed up a bowl of greek yogurt topped with berries, banana, raw oats, a sprinkle of granola and a worm of peanut butter.
And served that with “cool coffee,” which is hot coffee with a few ice cubes melted in to cool it off but not ice it down. This was actually a packet of decaf Starbucks Via I found in my pantry the other day. It was just OK. But instant coffee sure is easy!
Have a good Saturday!

Looks like you’ve got a gorgeous day ahead!!
That’s what my mom always does to her coffee. Pretty smart!
I’m sure you’ve mentioned it before but what is your “go-to” Greek yogurt for for your yogurt bowls? We had some much needed rain last night and it is continuing this morning.
Oikos in the big tubs… Grass fed/ organic
I looooove your mug! I forgot to buy one at Anthropolgie when I was home! I’ll need to remember next time I pass one!
agreed. also love the mug
Yeah I was about to get one a few months ago when I spotted it at Anthro. and checked the price tag. I thought, “hmmm next time!” haha
And your backyard is seriously so lush and gorgeous Kat!
Glorious looking morning here too! Hoping to get in a good walk today…enjoy your day!
I use those via packs for baking recipes that call for espresso !
Yogurt bowls> oatmeal in the summer!
Thanks for the response Kath. We like Oikos as well as Fage, Trader Joe’s, Chobani, Noosa and I just bought a big tub of Mountain High to try.
I might have to buy a decaf coffee, even though I am not a coffee drinker. I like coffee every now and again.

Looks like a yummy breakfast!
Ohhhh gorgeous! Love a good bowl berries!
I’m actually seriously impressed by those VIA packets. I was a skeptic at first but I found them to come in pretttty handy this past winter!
Love the idea of “cool coffee” haha – do you drink your coffee black?!
Yup
I was just thinking about putting raw oats on my yogurt the other day–but I wasn’t sure if the texture or consistency would put me off. Now, seeing it, it looks like I just might have to go it a go!
You should put some leftover decaf (or make a bit extra) and freeze it in ice cube trays. It’s awesome for cooling down too hot coffee and won’t water it down at all! (Plus you can keep the cubes in a freezer bag for easy morning grabbing.)

I’ve heard of that, but this was Italian roast so I did want to water it a bit…I’m weird to like diluted iced coffee!
I missed the ‘did’! I can understand wanting to water that one down
Is there added nutritional benefit to eating oats raw as opposed to cooked? I know CaitlinHTP eats raw oats a lot also and was wondering!
No, the nutrients should be the same regardless. If I gave an edge to oats in any form, I’d give soaked overnight oats the best benefit because it helps to neutralize the phytic acid, which can interfere with calcium absorption. Cooking helps with this too.
I tried a Starbucks via packets the other day and it was so much better than I expected- still instant coffee, but actually drinkable. Enjoy your weekend!
LOLing at a “worm of peanut butter”. Best worm ever.
“worm of peanut butter” I am half expecting it to move! LOL
Haha, like the commenters above me, I also chuckled at “worm of peanut butter.” Definitely a good kind of worm
Instant coffee is not my favorite, but it does work in a pinch! Breakfast looks tasty!
I love hot coffee, but during the summer, there’s nothing quite like iced coffee! Especially with brekkie
Yum! Your little yard is so cute!
I have “cool” coffee everyday! It makes it easier to get my caffeine fix in before I tackle my morning commute!
