Although I think butternut takes the cake for flavor and ease of preparation (cutting the skin off the ribs of acorn squash is time consuming). I was listening to the splended table on NPR this afternoon and Lynne Rossetto Kasper answered a question about how to use winter squash. Almost all of her sugestions were sweet recipes. I prefer my squash savory and slightly spicy. Molly's recipe for Butternut squash with chickpea salad is one of my new favorites. The recipe is on her blog Orangette.blogspot.com.
