The 9 Month Weight

August 27, 2012

I walked downtown today….

Foodblog-26

For my final Pump Challenge class!! At least for a while : ) Next Monday is Labor Day so my normal class would be different (if I am still pregnant) and by the week after that I should have a baby in my arms to lift! I have to thank my friends for being the main reason I went to Pump nearly every week of this pregnancy. If I hadn’t had them to look forward to seeing, I probably wouldn’t have stuck with it so much! My muscles aren’t quite as strong as they were 9 months ago, but then again, I have a good amount of body weight to lift on a daily basis so maybe I’m about the same. Hope to be back at it in good time!

After Pump, my friend Lara and I and her cute little boy headed to lunch

Foodblog-54-3

We picked up salads at Rev Soup and took them to the park to eat in the sunshine.

Foodblog-55-2

The Gulf Rim for me with shrimp, egg and avocado!

Foodblog-54-2

Plus a cornbread muffin on the side

Lara [the botanical artist] gave me this awesome baby shirt with a print of her kale artwork ironed on!! Love it! Eat More Kale, baby style : ) [Haha notice the baby peeking out to the left!]

Matt and I are honored to be featured on Beyond The Flavor today!! Remember when we carried that Great Harvest box downtown a few weeks ago? It contained a homemade pizza!

Andrea and Sarah [both professional photographers and foodies] have done an amazing job building the site! Every single post is gorgeous.

Good afternoon!

What a cute little onesie! I also thinks it’s amazing how you’ve been able to stay so active through your pregnancy – good work! Now, it only the little baby can come so we can “meet” him! ;)

Congratulations on being on the site! Cornbread…my current addiction! For breakfast, a salad side, a chili side…a soup side…it works with everythin!! Well done too on keeping up the body pump, I hope I can stay as active when I someday have kids.

That is such a beautiful picture of that pizza! I know that you used to post pictures to Foodgawker, but I really think that you should consider posting some of your pictures again. Maybe when you only have a few minutes to spare, but not enough time to blog! :) Not that you won’t be busy with the blog, baby, bakery and…. I need a “B” word! Oh I know. Blog, baby, bakery and BRAND NEW PROJECT. Haha.

It’s so gorgeous because Andrea took it, but thanks for thinking it could be mine :) I kind of gave up on posting photos to Gawker and TS due to time but it was fun to have them accepted when I did for a while!

I LOVE that onesie. She has got some talent! Her artwork is so intricate- very impressive. Love the pizza post! Question about the pizza – it says that any veggies going on the pizza should be pre-cooked. For tomatoes and peppers, do you guys roast them in the oven first? Or how do you precook them for a pizza? Thanks!

26 KathEats August 27, 2012 at 3:24 pm

We sauteed them both in a skillet, but roasting would be great too

Hi Kath,

Just wanted to say that you’re such an inspiration for staying so fit and active throughout your pregnancy! :) I’m not pregnant but if I ever do have a child, I hope that I stay as active as you!! You look fabulous and I can’t wait for Baby KERF soon – I’ve been a loyal reader for years now and am so, very, very excited for you. (Not sure if you remember me but my friend Veronica and I met you & Matt for lunch/brunch when you lived in Charlotte, NC).
Wishing you all my best!!

Farah

Hey Farah! Thanks so much. And I do remember our lunch – at Pewter Rose for brunch, right!? Butterscotch scones…

Reply

37 Farah August 27, 2012 at 4:39 pm

Yes!! I couldn’t remember the name of the restaurant. Veronica still lives in Charlotte so I’ll ask her if she’s been back. And I remember that I was the only one at the table who didn’t like scones … ;)
Inspired by you – I finally started a blog of my own though it’s still pretty basic. Hope you have a great week…and Baby gets here soon! :)

My older sister was born on Labor Day!! Actually my sisters and I were all born on holidays. So are the kids we have so far. My next daughter is due November 13th, and I am really hoping she comes on Halloween (way early, I know) so we can keep the tradition alive. I don’t think I could hold this baby in until Thanksgiving. :)

We’re all hoping you have a baby in your arms in two weeks!!! :)

Hi Kath,
Greetings from a fellow Charlottesvillian! I have you to thank for turning me on to Body Pump. I’ve been dong it 3 times a week for about 6 weeks and my upper body is stronger, my posture is better, and I have so much more definition. I generally feel much better in my own skin. I’m really grateful…
Good luck in the next few weeks. I’ll be thinking about you at this exciting time!
Warmly,
Marya

I get pizza envy every. single. time. you blog about your homemade pizzas! If I recall the crust is Great Harvest Bread, so I would have to find a substitute for that, but I have got to learn to think outside the box for toppings. It seems the little’s dictate the toppings in our house, but that shouldn’t prevent the adults from making their own individual pizza’s with different toppings! The little’s might even learn to think outside the box. I believe pizza’s will be making an appearance on our weekly menu soon. Thanks!

I am so inspired by you still going to body pump whilst prego! I hope to be as active, fit, and healthy as you are during my (one day) pregnancy experience. You are truly setting the standard that women CAN work out while baby is growing, not just use it as an excuse to over-eat and treat!! I love it;) Thank you.

Btw…in the photo of you holding the little onesie and you said “Notice the baby peeking out to the left?” My eyes wandered too far left, over to the stone wall, where there is a shadow of an odd looking face! Do you see it? I thought…what? Then I saw your belly! :-)
