There’s nothing I like more than someone saying: “When I come to your house, I want to eat THAT.” After reading this post, Larbs requested grilled banana french toast.
We used Great Harvest Fayetteville’s Ezekiel bread (which Karen brought last week)
And a bunch of ripe bananas
Clean dishes in this house are running low. Luckily I remembered my stack of colored plates in the bowl cabinet!
Toppings bar
Almost too many choices!
I went with a thin piece of toast topped with grilled bananas (which were so ripe they didn’t grill as well as usual), a blob of cinnamoned pumpkin, Ambrosial granola and TJs sunflower butter.
And for “dessert”, I polished off the leftover pumpkin : )
I think they liked it!
Mom + Dad are departing later this morning while Larbs, Matt, Matt and I go for a run across the UVA grounds and then to show Matt around Cville.

That looks like dessert for breakfast. Yum. Now I’m craving sunbutter.
That topping bar would be seriously dangerous for me, I need to try one of these sandwiches!
I love the toppings bar. I know I would have trouble choosing what to add. Hope you have a great day!
Now that is some serious french toast! Looks delicious!
It’s always flattering when friends want me to make them “blog food” as well. I’m not surprised Larbs wanted the French toast though- it looks amazing!
I feel like I’d go nuts with the decision process of what to have for breakfast at the KERF ranch
I wish you could make me breakfast this morning.
Do you sweeten the pumpkin at all or just mix it with cinnamon?
Sorry, Keep It Sweet, no sugar involved
oooh great breakfast – I’ve never had that before!
I would have requested the same breakfast!
Great looking breakfast, have fun on your run! : )
I love your collection of colorful plates!

I know you recently mentioned a pandora christmas station that you loved but i can’t seem to find what it was. Would you please let us know again?:)
Need to try that breakfast! Just got some of that pumpkin butter from my grandma on thanksgiving, but haven’t tried it yet…
Peaceful Holidays and Swingin’ Christmas
I really do think you should open up a KERF breakfast bar next to your Great Harvest
I know I would make a road trip just for that!
I want your topping bar! There are so many choices.
All I can say to that is… YUM.
Haha, looks like we like the same mugs!

Wow, very yum! I’ve never tried TJ’s sunflower seed butter, but need to!
I love that both your husband and your sister’s boyfriend are named Matt!
My sister and my husbands both share the same name (Albert) too! It makes for a confusing family dinner – when someone calls out their name, and they both turn around!
How do you guys keep the two Matt’s straight?!
My Matt is known as Kanz within the family, so that makes things a lot easier!
yes, if i came to your house i would want that too! you make the most incredible breakfasts!
Love the stack of colorful plates =]
That’s one loaded French toast! yum!
If I were ever to dine chez KERF, I would probably request that too!
I really really really need to try that grilled-bananas-on-french-toast thing…like soon! Yours always looks so amazing…love all the toppings, too!
love,

I often get requests for my breakfasts and it makes me so happy. I love this deconstructed version of french toast.
Enjoy the day!

Loving those colorful plates!
Those plates are so pretty!!
I love a big stack of mis match colorful plates, so cute.
I don’t know about pumpkin on the French toast, especially unsweetened. It looks good, though!
I am going to show up at your house with a bowl of ice-cream. Please have toppings bar ready. Thank you.
I would love that!!
I had french toast this morning as well! Love love loveeeee!
