I feel like I’ve done nothing but work today (including work on recipes and make a mess in the kitchen so I had to do extra cleaning too) and my list isn’t getting much shorter
I want to go out and play but I know if I don’t get this stuff done this weekend my busy week of evening obligations is going to melt away from me. </end whine fest<> (I just wrote WINE fest!!)
I sat down for a mid-day meal around 3pm. That mystery oatmeal held me over well! Must have been the heart-healthy serving
Both recipes are mysteries – but the good news is this is the very last of ‘em! Last night’s plus these two. HOPEFULLY the test kitchens will like these and the project will be a wrap!
I’m sure you can guess what these are, but after I submit them they are no longer my recipes so I can’t tell you the details
But if you guess correctly, I would HIGHLY recommend making them!! They were both awesome. I came | this close | to keeping the appetizer as my own recipe, but I’m under a crunch to get these in, so to Weight Watchers they go!
An appetizer –
And a salad –
Mmmmm!
Guest Lunch Post!
Since my lunch is a mystery, I bring you the lunch of Vivian, who comes to KERF from the University of Auckland in New Zealand where she is studying Food Science! She submitted two lunches and a snack, and they looked so good I had to post all three!
Lunch 1) Poached egg on wholemeal bagel, with tomato and avocado
Lunch 2) Smoked salmon, avocado, fancy lettuce, tomato and beetroot on a tortilla (sundried-tomato flavour)
Snack) Grape – Gouda cheese – Cucumber skewer
Dinner tonight is going to be leftovers of last night’s soup. I promise I’ll get back to sharing everything after tonight!
I’m off to keep workin’

What brand of canned salmon does everyone recommend? Jenna told me she uses Chicken of the Sea. I have never tried canned salmon before, but I think I would love it since I love regular salmon and I LOVE lox. Also, how does everyone prepare it? Thanks for all your help!

Hi Kath,
Just had to tell ya that I found the new Quaker True Delights at my Wally~World today…got the toasted coconut banana macadamia nut flavor. Can’t wait until tomorrow morning’s breakfast with one of these crumbled on top(I told you, I am ruined now for granola bars on my oatmeal!!!!
And, Fancy…I always use the Chicken of the Sea pink salmon in the foil pouch. It’s just the right serving for me.
I guess something like roasted red pepper or pumpkin hummus for the app!
What a great guest post!
The appetizer looks amazing! How many other people are contributing to the cookbook?
Good luck getting through the rest of your list – maybe a real wine fest when it’s done?!
Ha – love her little cucumber skewers (sp?)

Such suspense you keep us all in with these mysteries. Love the guest post!
Your lunch looks absolutely AMAZING, holy cow.
“Grape – Gouda cheese – Cucumber” That I could do. I keep things real simple, and once in a while I experiment.
Fancy ,
I use Costco brand, but I really like those pouches too (but they are more expensive).
K,
I have no idea how many others are contributing, but it’s the Annual Recipes book so probably a lot.
K
Thank you Kath for posting my guest lunches, I feel so special to appear on your blog
The appetizer looks yum, it makes me hungry!
Good luck for your mystery oatmeal, I really hope you win
Hey! That appetizer kinda looks like the sweet potato pizzas I made last night. I think I know what is on top of that dough.
That’s exciting, can’t wait until it gets published!
