My mom gets the Mother Of the Year award for getting up at 7 this morning to exercise in sub-freezing temps with me! She’s also sewing the loose buttons on my jackets for me
This was what the sky looked like when we got out of bed – blah!
We are right next to Goucher College and I mapped out a 1.5 mile loop around the campus. I ran the loop 4 times while mom walked. It was cold, but not that cold. And it felt great! Total mileage: ~5.2.
After our exercise, we showered and met my grandparents at their apartment for breakfast. I whipped up some oats!
The base was 1/3 cup oats made with milk, banana and some raisins. The toppings included blueberries (Gram is the Queen Of Berries and always has some on hand!), cherry preserves, and homemade coffee cake!
And I had some lovely orange juice -
After breakfast we all headed to my grandparents’ church, which is where my mom and dad were married 32 years ago. The pastor and his wife are blog readers! The whole church was dressed in purple in honor of the Ravens game tonight.
We left church and headed straight for Loehmann’s for some shopping!
See any similarities?
Yes, we broke out the camera in the dressing room “for the blog” they said
When we left it was SNOWING!!! (Hard to see the little flurries though)
We drove by my mom’s elementary school, Hampton Elementary.
And ended with a lunch of leftovers from the party last night. I know where I get my taste in music – we ate while listening to Pop’s Mormon Tabernacle Choir CD of patriotic songs!
I had some crab dip over a toasted English muffin –
Some fresh fruit -
I had to have a little bit of cheese
(And may have had another cracker or two and a few chips
)
And I ended with half of one of these amazing store-bought-yet-homemade choco chip cookies -
We’ve got 2 hours of “nap time” until we’re due for dinner at 5:30 (!!) in the dining room tonight. (A different one from last night). My mom’s brother, aunt and cousin are joining us as well. Off to watch TV

You should have tried to get into the city! Towson is a nice town, but there’s so much to see (and some great runs) in Baltimore

I grew up in VA and I remember the Loehman’s dressing room when I was a teenager. NO DOORS!!!! Mom and I always joked about wearing our good underpants before we shopped there. Thanks for bringing back the memory.
