Sunday Rituals

May 20, 2012

Sleep till my eyes open.

Step outside and take in the day.

Make oatmeal for two while the early riser sleeps

Gobble it down.

This fabulous bowl was Coach’s Oats made with whipped banana, milk, chia seeds, vanilla, pinch salt and topped with Jam According to Daniel (the end of my jar!) and Wild Squirrel Vanilla Espresso Almond Butter plus local granola. It was a fabulous bowl!

Enjoyed with a mug of coffee!

The salad is ready to eat!

2 Lynn @ the actor's diet May 20, 2012 at 9:13 am

I slept til my eyes opened today too. Unfortunately that was 6am!

Jealous of your lettuce beds! :) What a champ you are in the garden – I can’t even keep rosemary alive!

4 Caroline @ After Dinner Dance May 20, 2012 at 9:19 am

That’s what I love about Sundays :)

5 Katie @ Talk Less, Say More May 20, 2012 at 9:26 am

Such cute little gardens! I wish I had a green thumb (or a yard) in which to make that happen too… :(

6 Antonia @ healthinspirations May 20, 2012 at 9:27 am

What a beautiful way to start your Sunday. Your oatmeal looks especially tasty today. Must be the amazing lighting from the SUN?! Have a wonderful day :)

I really want a garden to look like that!! Right now mine are all in pots…

10 Shannon @ A Pinch of Ginger May 20, 2012 at 9:52 am

Your gardens look beautiful! Did you start with seedlings or seeds?

11 KathEats May 20, 2012 at 9:55 am

Seeds for the greens, seedlings for the veg/tomatoes

12 Jacqueline May 20, 2012 at 9:57 am

Yummy! Looks like pb&j for breakfast. Nothin’ better than sleeping as long as you need and knowing a fresh salad is somewhere in your future! Enjoy the day!

13 Averie @ Averie Cooks May 20, 2012 at 10:02 am

Enjoy these last few Sundays of sleeping til your eyes open before it turns into sleep until the baby needs you :)

Enjoy your day!

14 Katie @ Peace Love and Oats May 20, 2012 at 10:13 am

16 Cait's Plate May 20, 2012 at 10:26 am

So jealous of your garden!!

Sounds like a perfect way to kick off a Sunday…enjoy the rest of your day :)

17 Hillary May 20, 2012 at 10:54 am

I have pretty much the same Sunday ritual: sleep until I feel like it, take at least an hour to enjoy my coffee and breakfast, and let the day start slowly. Looks like a beautiful day there! Enjoy it.

18 Christine @ Oatmeal Bowl May 20, 2012 at 11:18 am

I love your square foot garden! So jealous I don’t have one of my own (moving to an apt. will be planting container garden soon).

oatmeal looks delicious, too!

19 Laura @ She Eats Well May 20, 2012 at 11:32 am

20 Angela @ Happy Fit Mama May 20, 2012 at 12:05 pm

21 Stacy @ Say It With Sprinkles May 20, 2012 at 12:19 pm

I’ve got salad greens popping up all over in the garden, too! Need to start doing more chomping + blending! =)

22 Jennifer May 20, 2012 at 12:55 pm

24 Lexi @ You, Me, & A World to See May 20, 2012 at 2:37 pm

25 Andrea May 20, 2012 at 3:47 pm

What is in the third raised bed with the trellis type support?

27 Angel7 May 20, 2012 at 5:34 pm

Do you sell Jam According to Daniel at the Great Harvest store? I would love to buy some, but I think you can only buy the jam in bulk.

28 KathEats May 20, 2012 at 5:40 pm

We have requested it, but he is a little short on supply. I think you can only buy in bulk from his website, but you can certainly get it by the jar at the market (guessing that’s a bit too far of a drive for you :) )

29 Angel7 May 20, 2012 at 5:52 pm

Yes, it is too far to drive :) Do you think he would ever sell the jam on Amazon’s Web site? I would definitely buy some then.

30 KathEats May 20, 2012 at 5:56 pm

Probably not. He’s a small, local producer.

31 Rachel May 20, 2012 at 7:24 pm

do you think it would be possible to sell some of your local favourites on opensky? :)

32 KathEats May 20, 2012 at 7:29 pm

I’d love to do something like this, but I don’t think I’d be able to do a collection of things without warehouse space (and a lot of work!) We did Shenandoah Joe’s coffee and of course the Cville Cluster granola…. I don’t think Daniel’s production would be able to supply an online sale. No Bull Burgers is a possibility though!!

33 Jill May 21, 2012 at 12:00 am

ENJOY sleeping in!!! I remember how much I would enjoy it when I was preggers……

34 Fran@ Broken Cookies Don't Count May 21, 2012 at 4:33 am
