Inside out day is going great so far!!
This morning my friend Suzanne came over for a walk. We walked + talked for about an hour covering 3.3 miles around my neighborhood.
I came home and changed the laundry…
I’m working on more cleaning experiments! GOOD NEWS!
And then went back out on our same walking route, running this time! I covered 6.6 glorious outside miles!
Matt is gardening and brewing beer
Lunchtime called!
Mmmmmmmmmm pimento cheese on High Five bread!!!! Plus more spiced pecans
A few strawbs
And a wonderful fresh salad
We were out of sparkling water, but it’s back!
Fun day thus far! Although I showered, I intend to go back outside for more playing – this time on my bike! Unfortunately it’s not all that warm outside and I’m kind of cold in shorts and a t-shirt. Might have to go put on more layers!
BYE!

we just got our refill carbon canister for our seltzer maker – life is so much more pleasant when we have bubbly water around!
Yep the sun is out but it is still kind of windy here too. Enjoy your day outside!
Wowza! 9.9 miles in total? I totally would have walked 0.1 more miles at the end to make it 10
. Enjoy the rest of the day!
Just 6.6!
I mean plus the 3.3 walkin’!
I know – I walked 3.3 and then ran 3.3 – just 6.6 total.
BUT I just walked more and think I hit 10!
I can’t wait to get some sun next week on my spring break!
your lunch looks delicious, with that gooey cheese….
You got a pretty active day in already!
Have you ever tried to use vodka as room spray? It actually smells so good with some lavender infused in it. It is just a little bit ‘out there’ though
No!! that sounds cool!
This does work…I have made room spray before with equal parts vodka, distilled water and a few drops of an essential oil!
You are a walking machine! I long for the day I live in a walkable city
Me too Kate!
A day outside? Sounds wonderful. Have fun!
That salad looks so vibrant
High Five Bread looks mouthwatering. Carb me, please! mm mm good!
Yay sparkling water! Love that stuff. It’s nice here too, almost 70 degrees! Awesome after yesterday’s 50-degree day!
Your so lucky to be in such a walkable town! In one day, you cover more than some in an entire week!
If you had swum instead of walking, you basically did a triathlon today
hardcore!
Aw yay – what a fun day!
Have a fabulous time playing outside some more. Even if it’s not warm, we can always pretend right!?
Looks wonderful! I’d love to get into biking, if I had a good place to do it around where I live. Have a fantastic day!
We just bought some strawberries today at the store. I cannot wait to eat them!
Your salad looks good! I have been eating more salads lately, because you have inspired me through the pictures of your awesome greens!
Cheers… To great health!

so do you make your own sparkling water? I love drinking it but hate buying all the bottles!
Yes, in a keg with a carbonator for beer
I hope the second half of your day is just as fun!
the weather looks amazing kath!! your bread creation looks to die for mmmm.
I’ve never had fresh brewed beer before…I’m so curious about it!
What’s Matt brewing this time?
Imperial Stout! My fav!
Mike and I can certainly vouch for Matt’s beer-brewing talent!
Does he have distributing rights to Northern Illinois? I’ve just recently come around to stouts!
Wow, what a fun day so far, and a lovely lunch intermission! Have fun playing this afternoon Kath!
Not warm here either…but at least you all have some sun…..it’s cloudy here
. Sounds like you’re having lots of fun outside……aren’t those the best days?!
So much fun playing like a kid but having all the freedom of al adult!
Sunshine and strawberries – signs that SUMMER is on it’s way
What a fun and active day, as usual in the KERF daily read
Warm enough for shorts?! I can’t believe you ran after the walk and sheets!
Is that pecans and raisins on the salad? Love raisins.
Sounds like such a productive morning AND fun! That bread looks incredible for lunch. Hope you enjoy your afternoon as well!
Sounds like a great productive day! Summer is radiating through this post. Lunch looks delicious!
Sounds like a fun morning outside! The bread with cheese looks delicious…Enjoy the rest of your day!
We just sat outside for snack time…it was so nice. Now back to work inside…ugh. Enjoy the rest of your day Kath!
You always have the prettiest salads ever!
Glad you got in some great exercise and time with your friend.
Beer making and pimento cheese and spiced nuts…all awesome too.
And getting laundry done and sheets changed is so productive feeling, love it when I am all caught up.
mmmm I am going to have pizza tonight–love the inspiration
Gardening and brewing. What a pair of activities! Hope you’re having a wonderful, sunny Sunday
Looks like it’s much nicer where you are than where I am. I’m inside on the couch in sweats with a blanket! I had snow….so jealous!
Wow, you’re quite the active women! I haven’t done 6.6 miles in quite along time- I stick to 4-5 these days
I never think sandwiches or salads of any kind are boring. At all. And yet I realize how horribly repetitive I am once I see your creations. They’re always so beautiful and delicious looking.
Yay for outside time! Glad you are enjoying the sunshine
Sounds like a great day so far! I love taking walks and soaking up the sun on beautiful days like today. I followed your lead and spent the morning outside at my brother’s baseball game. I love springtime!
Sounds like a great weekend! I LOVE pimento cheese, it’s way too good.
what a productive day! I just bought strawberries! They are so juicy! Love them!
what a lovely day in the sun!
I’ve been busy with fun and work all day today. Outside I go again to mow the lawn.
I love sparkling water! I can rarely justify the price when water is free, but it’s lovely
Ours is free, which is why it rocks!
Sounds like a very productive day so far, lunch looks wonderful!
At least the sun is out where you are…it snowed where I am today. Was NOT happy about that!
I love your fresh lunch. I wanted to go on a walk today but didn’t know a good route! Thinking of going to the downtown mall tomorrow! Sounds like you had a good inside out day
Are you in Cville too!?
Yes! I was here this weekend. Was going to leave tomorrow to go back to Charlotte but think I’m going to stay another day
I’m not sure why sparkling water is so much more delicious than regular! I really want to start making my own so I don’t spend all of our money or Pellegrino.
Wow, you are super active today! Luv your blog (especially tribute to oatmeal)!
How do you make your sparkling water?
In a keg with a CO2 tank
I love the strawberries! I am so excited that they are finally in season!
Kath,
I see that you drink sparkling water a good deal – are there health benefits to it? Or to the specific kind that you drink? And how do you guys brew your own?
Thanks!
Your salads ALWAYS look so delicious! Its hard for me to make myself go and wash a head of lettuce. Do you buy prewashed bagged/boxed lettuce? Or do you wash it all at once and store it in some kind of container in the fridge? I want to include more greens in my diet!
I usually buy pre-washed organic spinach – which I do not wash again. But this salad was half romaine, which was a head that I washed in bulk and then tucked back in the fridge with a paper towel
What an amazing day of playing outdoors! I was trapped inside because it snowed here today. Ugh!
I’m planning to buy some Shaklee products next week! Can’t wait to see your laundry review
I have a water carbonator that I love and I’m wondering if – being green – you would be interesting in carbonating your own water. The brand is Soda Stream and I got it on Amazon for around $100. I’ve been loving it. Not only do I never run out of carbonated water (and never have to pay for it), but it’s also a green move because there are no bottles, no shipping water on trucks, nothing.
Yes, we do carbonate our own. See a few comments above. We use a keg + CO2 tank
Oh, of course. With your husband being a brewer, I should have figured. Isn’t it great. It’s my new obsession.
wow, I love grilled pimento cheese but Hubby doesn’t. I think he’d go for this pimento cheese bruschetta though…the addition of nuts is sheer genius. thanks for sharing!
Walking, running, and biking all in one day! I could learn a lesson or two from you.
