STUFF

June 23, 2010

STUFF. Is. EVERYWHERE!! For the first time in ….ages….I went to bed with laundry unfolded. I think the whole “the house is already a mess so why bother” mentality is getting to me now  Did I mention that I took an entire car to Goodwill last night? It was heartbreaking to see my precious clothes being thrown into bins. But sweater-with-hole-in-the-elbow and turtleneck-that’s-too-thin-for-winter-but-too-full-coverage-for-fall just weren’t working.

I’m planning to take tonight off of exercise so I can get stuff done. Reminder that moving day is in 2.5 days!?!

Yesterdays SIAB was soooo good and soooo filling that I decided to repeat. It held me over for SIX hours!! I’m hoping my slight variation in ingredients won’t mess with the satiety :)

You’re getting there!! And I hear you on feeling a little bittersweet with giving everything to Goodwill. I always feel that way when I empty out my closet. :D

Oh my goodness, when we moved from Indiana to Pennsylvania last year, I seriously took 10 trips to Goodwill. They knew me by name in the drop-off area. I think they also kind of hated me, but whatever :-)

Have a great day!

Yes! I gotcha with the stuff. Is it just me or it looks like stuff double and triple when it’s not hidden?

I’m moving out of a tiny appartement and the worst experience is to get up at night to go to the bathroom in the dark. STUFF EVERYWHERE! :)

Your SIAB looks wonderful!! I think it’s great you donated your old clothes. I have been trying to motivate myself to organize my closet and do the same thing. Moving might be in the future for us as well, and I need to start preparing for it. I’m partly looking forward to it… and partly dreading it! :-)

tip – soy milk won’t curdle if you heat it first. i often put a little in the bottom of my cup and microwave that for 20-30 seconds before pouring in my coffee. works every time =).

10 Kath June 23, 2010 at 11:44 am

I’ve tried that and I hasn’t gone well! I think it’s more dependent on the brand.

11 rebecca June 24, 2010 at 6:17 am

oh strange! i usually buy either whole foods or trader joes brand.

12 mk June 23, 2010 at 6:39 am

I just found this out, so I wanted to share. If you put the soy milk in your cup first, then slowly add coffee – it won’t curdle.

Good luck with the move :)

I need to do a massive clean out and take to Good will of the clothes in my closet. I have so many things I haven’t worn in over a year.

Enjoy your day!

Oh! how I wish a cup of granola had 50 cals ;)

I haaaate when soy curdles! The other day I warmed mine in the microwave for thirty seconds before adding coffee to it and it kept the milk from curdling. I recommend it! :)

What is your favorite brand of soy milk? Almond milk? Any other type of milk (minus dairy)? I used to make my oatmeal just in water, but making it with milk is SO MUCH BETTER!

Reply

53 Kath June 23, 2010 at 11:47 am

I like Harris Teeter’s soy milk. And Costco’s. I don’t like almond milk – too watery.

And the mess will only get worse as you unpack and find places for new stuff at the new place.

kath, have you ever tried microwaving the soymilk in a mug for 45 seconds or so before putting it in the coffee? when i’m craving “whitened” coffee, that’s usually what i do, and it never curdles. :-)

ps: i love your blog, even though i’m but a lurker!
