STUFF. Is. EVERYWHERE!! For the first time in ….ages….I went to bed with laundry unfolded. I think the whole “the house is already a mess so why bother” mentality is getting to me now
Did I mention that I took an entire car to Goodwill last night? It was heartbreaking to see my precious clothes being thrown into bins. But sweater-with-hole-in-the-elbow and turtleneck-that’s-too-thin-for-winter-but-too-full-coverage-for-fall just weren’t working.
I’m planning to take tonight off of exercise so I can get stuff done. Reminder that moving day is in 2.5 days!?!
Yesterdays SIAB was soooo good and soooo filling that I decided to repeat. It held me over for SIX hours!! I’m hoping my slight variation in ingredients won’t mess with the satiety
The Vita-Mix
- 1/2 gigantic banana
- 1 cup vanilla soy milk
- 1 scoop Vega Vanilla Chai
- Handful ice
- 1/4 cup dry oatmeal
Toppings
- Galaxy Granola
- 1 small nectarine (it’s in there, I promise!)
- A tsp of Naturally Nutty Cinnamon Vanilla Sunflower Butter
Service
A Golden Rabbit Bowl
Caftea Creme Brulee!
Worth the French press effort on this busy morning
Black because soy milk curdles.
Have a lovely day

You are so close! I am sure it is frazzling, but you are almost there.
2.5 days away! That is exciting. I get the same mentality when my apartment is a mess, no worries your almost there! Good luck with everything
6 hours?! I would kill for something that held me over that long!
Good luck with the moving! It’s so soon!
You’re getting there!! And I hear you on feeling a little bittersweet with giving everything to Goodwill. I always feel that way when I empty out my closet.
Oh my goodness, when we moved from Indiana to Pennsylvania last year, I seriously took 10 trips to Goodwill. They knew me by name in the drop-off area. I think they also kind of hated me, but whatever
Have a great day!
I can’t believe you’ll be moving so soon! Best of luck
Yes! I gotcha with the stuff. Is it just me or it looks like stuff double and triple when it’s not hidden?
I’m moving out of a tiny appartement and the worst experience is to get up at night to go to the bathroom in the dark. STUFF EVERYWHERE!
Your SIAB looks wonderful!! I think it’s great you donated your old clothes. I have been trying to motivate myself to organize my closet and do the same thing. Moving might be in the future for us as well, and I need to start preparing for it. I’m partly looking forward to it… and partly dreading it!
tip – soy milk won’t curdle if you heat it first. i often put a little in the bottom of my cup and microwave that for 20-30 seconds before pouring in my coffee. works every time =).
I’ve tried that and I hasn’t gone well! I think it’s more dependent on the brand.
oh strange! i usually buy either whole foods or trader joes brand.
I just found this out, so I wanted to share. If you put the soy milk in your cup first, then slowly add coffee – it won’t curdle.
Good luck with the move
mk
I hope you have a productive day. I have been so overwhelmed with stuff to do that nothing is really getting done. I have a bunch of half tasks accomplished! Good luck!
That is so exciting that you’re almost all moved!!
wow, I can’t believe you move so soon!
Moving day will be here before you know it!
I need to do a massive clean out and take to Good will of the clothes in my closet. I have so many things I haven’t worn in over a year.
Enjoy your day!
whoa, 6 hours?! I’m lucky for a smoothie to hold me over for 2..and those are my protein ones!
You gotta make them bigger!!!
That’s such a good idea to donate your old clothes! I have a whole bunch sitting in my drawers that I never wear….thanks for the inspiration, Kath! Good luck with your move over the next few days…I can’t believe it’s so close!
Sometimes a glass just doesn’t cut it for a smoothie.
You are the smoothie queen!
That is a beautiful bowl!
Moving day so soon! Good luck!
K, when you use granola as a topping, how much are you using? 2 Tbsp?
Oh! how I wish a cup of granola had 50 cals
Usually between 2 tbsp and 1/4 a cup (on a heavy handed day
Hang in there. I can imagine the craziness is getting pretty difficult, your almost there.
SIX hours!? Crikey, no meal holds me over that long!! Impressive
Have a lovely day!
So close! The craziness is almost ovahh!
I think you’re inspiring me to start tossing some of my own stuff! I certainly have the time to do it – may as well take advantage…
Ah, you’ll get it all done eventually! Sometimes it’s all the little bits and pieces that seem the worst. At least you haven’t lost your SIAB mojo!
2.5 days… wow, can you believe it’s already here?
What will you miss the most about Charlotte? Anything?
My friends
And also the modern feel. It’s such a new city with new buildings and new developments. Nicely planned and landscaped.
Cute dancing crab.
SIAB seems like the perfect summer breakfast!
We’re in the same spot with STUFF everywhere – I’m moving soon too. Luckily, I have a basement where all my stuff is being thrown for the time being. I’m headed to Goodwill today too!
I hate when it gets to that point in moving where everything is just a mess! It stresses me out!
I hope your move goes smoothly!!!
I am so sentimental I would have been upset about the clothes, too haha! good luck getting it all done.
O_O Good luck as ever with the move! I hope it goes smoothly…
6 hours?!? That’s pretty fantastic!
I almost went with a SIAB this morning, but switched last minute to oatmeal — so glad I did, because it ended up being one of my best bowls EVER thanks to a homemade granola blondie topping
i can’t believe how close the move is getting! plus, i would totally consider packing and moving exercise…it’s definitely hard work! hope everything goes super smoothly for you guys today
SIAB’s are SO FILLING!
Hang in there these next two days!! Giving away my clothes always makes me a bit nervous, but it helps to remember that they’re going to someone who will appreciate them far more than me
Always a good feeling dropping off a load at GoodWill. Good luck with the move!
Wow. 5 hours? I’ve gotta try SIAB.
Hope the move goes well!
Prepping to move is a workout in and of itself!
I haaaate when soy curdles! The other day I warmed mine in the microwave for thirty seconds before adding coffee to it and it kept the milk from curdling. I recommend it!
sometimes you gotta just let it go and go with the flow – you’re moving after all! how’d you make that cute crab dance?!?!
Harry Potter helped me put a spell on him!
I love your bowl! Where is it from?
I linked to it in the post
Open Sky!
I am excited for you!! i’ve been following your countdown with you and i’m getting too overexcited now hahaha!! and WOW. SIX hours? that is ONE fillllllllling meal! x
Wow, 6 hours!? I don’t think a meal has ever held me over for that long!
I hate it when I take old clothes to Goodwill. Even if I’m not going to wear them again, I like the memories associated with my clothing!
I’m always on the prowl for a most filling breakfast — I go from 6 to 1 without time to eat sometimes, so filling is key for me!
What is your favorite brand of soy milk? Almond milk? Any other type of milk (minus dairy)? I used to make my oatmeal just in water, but making it with milk is SO MUCH BETTER!
I like Harris Teeter’s soy milk. And Costco’s. I don’t like almond milk – too watery.
I feel ya on the ‘Why Bother’ mentality. That’s how I felt the last two weeks before moving. You’re so close – the time will fly by!!
Well, at least with all the old clothes cleared out, you can buy some new fall pieces.
I’m glad you were able to donate the stuff you don’t need or didn’t want to move.
And the mess will only get worse as you unpack and find places for new stuff at the new place.
kath, have you ever tried microwaving the soymilk in a mug for 45 seconds or so before putting it in the coffee? when i’m craving “whitened” coffee, that’s usually what i do, and it never curdles.
ps: i love your blog, even though i’m but a lurker!
Beautiful bowl! Love how it kinda matches the mosaic table:)
