i have become obsessed with all this amazing cooking blogs! and yesterday night i made your sweet potato gnocchi, or "ñoquis de boniato", as we would say here.
they were a success even if i had to adapt the recipe just a little bit, like adding a tomato and cream sauce.
about the quinoa: in 2008 my boyfriend and i went to north argentina and tried quinoa there, in desserts, in salads, in almost everything! they told us that quinoa was much like rice, that it could be used in many meals and that quinoa was a sacred grain for the incas.
so, despite its taste, or exactly because it has so little taste, it is versatile and can be used in a pudding much as it can be used in a salad or with stewed meat.

here, a link to quinoa, if you can find someone who translates it
http://www.montevideo.com.uy/notgastronomia_76448_1.html

In english try this, not the same but it sums up some facts about it: http://www.grain.org/briefings/?id=141#p24
take care and keep cooking!! :)

Try chili garlic sauce as a dipper next time. It is super flavorful and packs way more of a punch than ketchup! It goes great with baked sweet potato chips.

I must say that I just tried that trop fruit LB bar and thought it was one of the most disgusting things I have ever eaten, hehe :) I thought the pineapple was waaay overwhelming + fake tasting and it was dry + almost crumbly. Chris hated it too and typically loves those tropical flavors. So it was quite funny to read that you loved it so much!! eeeeek!! That dinner however looks and sounds amazing. LOVE the sweet tater chips and I completely love quinoa. I made the most amazing quinoa breakfast bowl back in Charlotte...with coconut milk instead of water and topped it with fresh fruits/yogurt/nuts/etc. SO good!!
