A little extra sumpin for the night before Christmas [Eve]
I went to CYCLE class today! Met my bud Suzanne, who is in town for the holiday, at the 12:10 class.
Can you guess what MOVIE the instructor played?
A Charlie Brown Christmas. I really couldn’t imagine a worse movie to cycle to! Our room has a big screen for showing the road and rolling hills during a class, but I never would have thought to show an actual movie during the class. I will say it was fun to watch a movie, and the time did seem to fly.
Biking to and from the gym gave me over an hour on two wheels – my legs are tired now!
I usually walk in the door from my noontime workouts ready to dig straight into a lunch! My 10 minute shower seemed so long today because I couldn’t wait to heat up this leftover beetlejuice soup!
Oh it has been a while since we’ve had Sriratcha in the house!
Served with a pile of bread cubes. I was too hungry to wait to toast them! I should have because they were a bit blah dry (these were from that sunflower loaf Karen brought us – Great Harvest bread is great plain!)
I can’t stop eating Lauren’s pecans!! They are so perfectly salted – it’s the salt that I keep going back for!
Gotta go book hotels for our Montana training – and research probiotics for a Breathe article!

I love A Charlie Brown Christmas, but it is a tad slow. I would lose all momentum trying to cycle to it.
And I love the set-up in the first photo — makes me think of a holiday abroad!
I love Sriratcha sauce – it’s pretty mighty stuff!! I remember the first time I used it I figured it’d be like sweet chili sauce – my tastebuds definitely felt the fire quickly!! Love your first photo – the blue bowl in particular!
Can’t wait to read your article on probiotics. I did pretty extensive research on them a few years ago for a project at work (I’m a clinical pharmacist) but I’m sure that there’s been more research published since then. Good Luck!
I hear so many wonderful things about Great Harvest. I wish there was one close to me. Alas, there isn’t. I’ll enjoy from afar.
Merry Christmas!
you’re busy busy!! i don’t think i would have been a fan of watching cartoons while cycling either. bring on the pumping tunes please
That soup is stunning in that blue bowl! How beautiful.
Charlie Brown Christmas during a class? No thanks!
Yum – I love Sriracha! I’ve never bought it though, since I rarely spice up my food with hot sauces at home. But when we go out for Thai, I love having some to add to my food.
As for Charlie Brown Christmas, while I love it, it’s way too slow for a workout.
Hahaha she couldn’t have played something with more action? Too funny. Lauren’s pecans ARE great! Mine went really really fast
. I even ate the extra salt at the bottom of the bag.
what an interesting movie for a spin class…i would have preferred something like “Love Actually” or something
How long is the spin class?
A movie during spin class?! That is pretty strange! I think I’d prefer the music to pump me up
Those pecans look really good. Hmmmm.
What a horrible cycling movie! That wouldn’t put me in a workout mood at all!
Charlie Brown while spinning? As much as I love Charlie Brown AND spin, I don’t think the two go together very well. It does remind me that I’ve yet to watch it this season, though!
Yum, sriratcha! I love that stuff.
Haha your spin class made me laugh!!!
Lunch looks great as usual.:)
That’s a weird movie to cycle to, but I love it! What a fun idea!
Wondering if you know much about hotels in Charleston. My mom is going on Sunday and would like a cute place to stay near the action. I know that is not where you are, but you seem to know the Southeast cool places.
While I can vouch that Charleston is super awesome, I have never stayed downtown so I don’t have a recommendation. Sorry!
The Francis Marion is a really nice hotel and centrally located, but the rooms are a tad on the small side. My hubs and I always stay at Renaissance Charleston on Wentworth Street. Another great location, really pretty decor and a fabulous hotel bar. Enjoy your visit!
The Francis Marion is very nice! We always stay there. Its an older hotel and very pretty!
I’m not sure I would enjoy cycling to that movie. I think I’d need something more…upbeat? Good luck with the hotels/cabins!
Oh I love Sriratcha! I put it on EVERYTHING!!
Gosh, I haven’t had Sriracha in the house in forever…I should go get some.
I couldn’t imagine trying to watch a movie while cycling. Especially that.
I love Charlie Brown Christmas, but I can see why that would be a bad movie to cycle to…haha.
Sriracha is the bessssssssssssst!
Mmmmm…we have some salted pecans in our pantry right now, and I CAN’T stop eating them!
THAT BEETLEJUICE SOUP LOOKS QUITE INTERESTING…I THINK I SHOULD TRY MAKING IT FOR MY LITTLE SISTER, SHE’LL EAT JUST BECAUSE OF THE COLORS, LOL
I love that bowl! What a great color
As someone who has been eating beetroot everyday this week, I wholeheartedly support purple meals
Merry Christmas Eve! (here in Australia)
that soup looks incredible, i want
I love probiotics! I am the queen of all things fermented from probiotics to homemade kombucha to homemade kefir to sauerkraut. Have fun reading bout the friendly bacteria.
Love those red beads, too!
Wow, really..A Charlie Brown Christmas?! Geez..I can’t even watch that without gettinb ored, there’s no way it could motivate me while spinning!
Love Charlie Brown Christmas, but I agree – it seems like it wouldnt be quite the right fit for a cycling class.
If you like the saltiness of those pecans, have you ever tried eating salted shelled peanuts whole… Asinine shell and all. My fried started doing it years ago and told me if I loved salt (which I do) to try it. I thought it was weird at first but I’ve been hooked ever since. Now I make everyone else try it. It’s so salty and delicious!
Yeah, love ‘em!
Ah, Kath, I am so glad you love them!
It has to be that Black Truffle Salt. Good stuff!
Love the color of that soup!!
Cycling to a movie sounds like the worst.idea.ever. Bring on the Rianna, Beyonce, etc
There is no T in Sriracha!! But it is DELICIOUS. I’m actually just going to leave the house for some Pho and I will def be adding some to it !
I’ve never heard of watching *any* movie while spinning. I got stuck in a class with bad music last week, and it nearly drove me crazy, yet I felt I’d be rude to leave. (Also, I wanted my workout, gosh darn it!) Good tunes are key for me!
I’ve never heard of playing a movie during spin class! It’s a neat idea, but I think it would be hard to stay energized without the loud music!
