Slow Motion

April 18, 2011

This always seem a little slow moving on Mondays.

Or perhaps everything but me is fast moving and I feel pressure to catch up!

I’m already running late getting my day started, but I have this french toast to blame:

French toast on High Five bread and Cinnamon Chip bread (a half slice of each) seared with coconut and flax. Plus grilled banana!! And the opening of a new jar of TJ’s Sunflower Butter – the nut butter of all nut butters!! Er, SEED butter!!!

ha! i’m eating oats for the first time in a really long time and i came to see what you put in yours today! it’s ok, i’ll be checkin out your tribute to oats soon!

also, do you ever eat steel cut oats? it’s my first time, and i have to say i think i like old-fashioned oats much better. is there a nutritional difference in steel cut maybe??

Reply

4 KathEats April 18, 2011 at 8:37 am

I had steel cut a few weeks ago and they reminded me for about the 10th time that i think old fashioned are way better

Reply

5 val April 18, 2011 at 8:41 am

i think steel cut tasted like grape nuts heated up and mushy! i tried, but i’m goin back to the old fashioned stuff:)

I think the Sun forgot about us today too :( Hopefully it shows up sometime soon.

Love the french toast — I bet the cinnamon chip tastes amazing that way!

I’m having a slow-motion Monday morning as well. Ugh.
The first of the fresh local strawberries on my yogurt bowl this morning helped a bit, though. :)
And hey, it’s a three day week for me this week… so that is something to look forward to!
Have a great day!!

French toast is so good, and easy to make! The nut butter probably makes the french toast.

I like your placemats and tablecloths!

I agree about TJ’s sunbutter, it’s good. It also compliments raw carrots very well, something other nut butters doesn’t.

I have been snacking on carrot sticks and sunbutter a lot.

TJ’s Sunflower Butter is the best tasting nut butter of all time. I don’t know what it is about it. The saltiness, the sweet kick, the creamy-runniness..just so delicious. Although the chunky PB with Flaxseeds from TJ’s is damn good, too.
