It felt a little like Christmas morning today. In addition to our tree and the everlasting Pandora Christmas stations floating through our house, I now have presents under the tree, the movie ELF halfway watched on my DVR (LOVE that movie! Has me laughing out loud more than any other comedy, ever.) and Matt home to sleep in!
The plan last night was for him to make his famous pancakes for breakfast, but when he was still asleep at 8am I decided to let him continue to rest and made him oatmeal in bed instead. Pancakes tomorrow!
His favorite: creamy whipped banana with cottage cheese. With currants mixed in! They are like tiny raisins : )
Topped with coconut and a big spoonful of crunchy sunbutter
Hazelnut tea
Should have had Chestnut to make it really Christmas!
Whether you’re shopping, working or relaxing today, have a cheerful day!

Hazelnut is Christmas-y too! I wish a bowl of oats would magically appear in front of me right now.
I love all the ceramic. It reminds me of the mountains!
Hope you find that eggnog, chica.
hint: it’s probably at whole foods!
That bowl is beautiful! Is it handmade?
Yes, by my childhood neighbor: http://www.etsy.com/shop/AmongNewHorizons
i currently have a sleeping elf in our house this morning too…
Love watching Xmas movies! Home Alone wasin my DVD player this week!
Mmmm hazelnut tea sounds amazing! I love Elf, the part where he gets in a fight with the mall Santa is hilarious. Also dancing on the table in the mail room.
Have a wonderful Saturday!! Glad you guys are getting into the holiday spirit, enjoy the rest of the movie.
Your porch looks great!! Nice job!
Happy weekend to you too Kath! Elf is one of my favorite Christmas movies too!
I’m in the “shopping” category so I will try my best to remember to be cheerful b/c that’s usually NOT how I feel when doing it…
I’ve got Christmas movies and music on my agenda this weekend too. I’m giving my room a thorough winter cleaning before the new year and I’ll have the tunes blasting very shortly!
Mmmmmmm breakfast looks delicious !! And I heart that mug !! I’m off shopping till I drop – as every year I’m a procrastination junkie – have a fantastic weekend everyone who reads this
You sure are getting your money’s worth with that porch. Love the bowl and of course Great Harvest mug
I want that purple bowl!
And a big cup of coffee, too
You want to send ME some oatmeal in bed? That’s a breakfast in bed I can get behind.
When you get here, yes
I was watching elf last night laughing out loud too! I’m sure Matt appreciated a break in the kitchen and breakfast in bed, always such a nice treat
I love Elf too. Any movie w a lot of candy I seem to gravitate towards.
I love Elf! It’s on in a few minutes and I scheduled my workout around it so I can watch it on the treadmill!
Elf is a classic…my boys(hubbie included) and I love this movie!!! I am enjoying a day of baking…the smells of childhood Christmas’s past. lol
Busy day ahead, but that’s typical this time of year. Oats look tasty!
I haven’t watched Elf yet this year- we actually watched the second Twilight movie last night. I just saw the first one, and have to admit- I’m a fan! I have the 3rd one on the DVR just waiting…
Hazlenut tea sounds SO tasty!
Aren’t Saturdays the best? Especially Saturdays before Christmas. Enjoy the down-time, it’s a beautiful day here in New York – I hope it’s equally gorgeous in your neck of the woods
We’re all Pandora, all the time in our house now
I have yet to try cottage cheese in oats! Loos fab
I am hoping to have a relaxing day – I had my last final yesterday and am officially halfway done with law school! Also, Elf is probably my favorite christmas movie! It’s just so good!
Glad to hear that your Christmas preparation is done.
Have a wonderful day too, Kath.
Love that bowl! I often pick up a handmade ceramic bowl every time I visit an arts and craft show. I love having a bunch of different varieties of ceramic bowls. Breakfast looks great, as usual.
This morning I had Coach’s Oats topped w/ brown sugar, craisins, chopped almonds, and milk. With a cup of SBUX Christmas blend coffee.
My husband hates oats–so that is cool yours likes it. Hah. Have a good one
Think you’ll ever use a place mat again or just stick to your new porch floor?
The floor! Until it’s too dirty to use
I watched Elf for the first time this year! I don’t know what took me so long to watch it – it was so funny!
I love elf! And I tried the cottage cheese oats for the first time this week and absolutely loved them!! So creamy, fluffy and delicious!!

Your bowl of oats looks like a snowman to me.
Can you take a picture of how you store all of your dinnerware/stoneware…I love your variety! I’d love to see how it is organized in your cabinets
Yes, coming in the New Year. Check out the Home Neat Home tab over there –> for our last house’s arrangement
