Shots From The Weekend

January 6, 2014

We had a great weekend packed with a killer athletic conditioning class, early bedtimes, lots of reading, beers at Beer Run (and nachos!), an organized session of food prep for the upcoming week and some epic TV!

Mmm I’m all over that salad with the walnuts – it looks so delicious.

Wow, Maze is doing a fine job trying to fit into those slippers! :-)

I heard Downton is back on TV. It’s on the same timeslot as Revenge (boo) so I’ll have to catch the episode later this week. It seems like forever since the last season!

So glad Maze likes Red Truck, the suggestion of a Katheats or BabyKerf reader!

That picture of Mazen in the slippers makes him look so big and grown up!

I love that this ended with pics from Downton Abbey and Bachelor Juan Pablo! I chose Downton for last night, although I went to bed with half an hour left. It’s fun to have some good shows recorded to enjoy in the evenings again.

Those looks like some epic nachos!! I’m probably the only person over this side of the world that hasn’t gotten in to Downton Abbey!

I am excited to see you write more about Cook Smarts and the meal plans. It looks like you got everything chopped and prepped for this week’s recipes so I will look out for the next “Lately”!

My daughter is the same age as M and will NOT let me read to her. She tears the books out of my hands and throws them. Any tips? :)

Aw sadness. I’m not really sure what to say? Maybe sit her in a high chair or other chair out of arm’s reach and try reading to her in there?

A couple months ago I feel like Mazen wasn’t too interested in reading – he didn’t react quite so strongly but he just didn’t want to sit still very much. I guess we just kept trying and eventually he came around. As with many things in child-rearing, I don’t really remember! It was frustrating though, because I really wanted to read to him.

Give your daughter a toy to hold while you read?

Awww…fun weekend. You can really tell how much you love being a mom to Mazen through these photos. So sweet!
Kevin & I recently started watching Downton Abbey as a rec from a friend (and realized we could watch on Amazon Prime!). We are HOOKED! We just started episode 1 of season 3 last night. So good!

I don’t usually watch the bachelor, but one of my best friend’s sister is a contestant, so I am SO EXCITED!! We had a big premiere party last night, it was a blast!

Haha, I love the last picture – I’m a huge fan of Downton Abbey and also pretty addicted to The Bachelor. Juan Pablo didn’t really stand out to me during Desiree’s season (wish Brooks were the new Bachelor… ow ow) but I’m still excited to watch this season. Looks like you had a really great weekend. Good job on all the food prep!

I have to ask, because I can’t figure it out…what’s the picture taken from the front seat of the car, looking at a random closed door?
