Delish!!

I started today with a little studying in bed – just to set the tone for the rest of the study-centered day. I’ve got a big clinical test tomorrow that needs my undivided attention.

I ventured down a little later to do 45 minutes of Yoga for Runners. I remember loving the session the first time I did it, but I didn’t like it as much as the Power Vinyasas I’ve been doing. And pigeon was missing from today’s session!? But I still felt stretched and strengthened afterward.

Then I moved on to oatmeal, starring this Koka Moka Probar. While this was a sample, I definitely find these bars worth buying despite their steep price. My strategy is to use only 1/6-1/4 of a bar at a time (on oats) and make it last a while. I just love how Probars are compacted seed blocks – so fun to eat! My favorite is still the Superfood Slam, but I liked this one a lot.

The Oatmeal Mix:

  • 1/3 cup oats, vanilla soy milk, water, pinch salt, 1 tiny banana
  • 2 dried figs
  • 2 tbsp wheatberries
  • ~1/3 cup pumpkin, stirred in at end
  • ~1/6 Probar
  • Coconut butter
  • Barney Butter on the spoon

Blend of Butterscotch Toffee, Georgia Pecan + Reindeer Blend with 2% milk –

With flowers (the flowers are fake – they came on a wedding gift package, but they sure brighten my day anyway!) + a vitamin

I have been wondering about probars. I saw them at the store the other day and was shocked to see they were almost $4 for one bar! That seemed very unreasonable to me. I have been wanting to try them though.

Sorry if this question has been asked/answered a million times before, but I was wondering if you keep a specific calorie count on your oatmeal breakfasts, or do you just try to keep it in a certain range? My KERF-inspired oats usually clock in around 350-400 calories.

Good luck with the studying Kath! Your bowl looked extra filling this morning – I think it was the pumpkin.

Awww, I get sad when I have to miss out on Pigeon. I always add it in the end if we don’t do it – so great for the hips…especially for runners!

Is there a reason why you add a portion of a bar rather than just throwing in some of the ingredients–a few seeds, a little fruit, etc.?? Are the bars THAT good, or is it a convenience factor? Thanks.

Hey Kath

I have started doing quite a bit of yoga lately and am becoming addicted! I love yogadownload.com too. I am planning on making some purchases with your discount in the next day or too.

My question was how you organize the yoga pose guides with the mp3s? The podcast is nice because they are already organized together but I haven’t found any way to associate a pdf with an mp3 and the best I could come up with is just to be organized about naming and some central folder. Any tips?

Janet ,
The oatmeal bowls are usually between 400-500 calories. I usually have the same base everyday, which is about 300 kcal, and about 100 kcal in topping and a 75-100 kcal spoonful of nut butter. Some days it’s probably more and some less.

Sarah ,
Homegoods.

Spiceaholic + Lena,
Welcome!!

Kori ,
Worked well. The Butterscotch overpowered the ones that weren’t as good (in a good way)

Patricia ,
The sum is greater than the parts here. I like how the seeds are “glued” together in the bar form in contrast to if I just sprinkled them on. It’s more like chunks of seeds instead of individual seeds.

Katerina ,
I have a folder on my desktop for yoga and I divided the sessions by 20, 30, 45 and 60 minutes and then have a folder where I put all the pose guides. I don’t need to look at the pose guides after the initial time I do a session, so they’re find all together.
