Routines.

Granola factory take 26 was smokin’ during its routine processing today! Since we’re shipping in house this time, Matt recruited me to head up the label department. Such chaos and organization at the same time. But I kind of like the type A assembly line of it all. Our final shipment (for those of you yet to receive yours!) should leave the building in the next 48 hours. It’s freshly baked and almost on the way!

Afternoon snacks included a few nuggets of The Cluster, a small slice of Dakota with Naturally Nutty Cinnamon Vanilla Sunflower Butter (MISSED YOU!)

And later, a piece of tofu with pimento cheese. I’m trying to get more creative with bakery snacking, and with my insatiable hunger today, savory was appealing. Doesn’t happen often!

2012-03-05 17.56.01Blog

I was thrilled to come home for dinner because it only required 6 minutes in the toaster oven and a quick assembly!

Leftover Brixx!

And a spinach salad.

Not my first choice of foods, but the spinach tasted good doused in avocado, pecans, cherries and red pepper. I held the bottle of Black Cherry Vinegar over my bowl for about 2 minutes before I decided I couldn’t stomach it. So I went with a drizzle of honey instead. Ate all but 5 leaves!

We’re deep into our boring winter 2012 routine: dinner, LOST, LOST, dishes, blog, emails, LOST, emails, read, sleep.

Cinnamon vanilla sunflower butter sounds amazing! Black cherry vinegar sounds really interesting, too – I’m going to have to keep an eye out for that. Nice spinach salad!

Haha your routine sounds a lot like mine! and that pizza looks so good, as does the tofu with pimento cheese! That’s a pretty creative snack option!

I had never heard of pimento cheese before…but now I really want to try it. What is your go to recipe?

Oh gosh it’s soooooo good!!!

I use Kelsey’s recipe – healthy with the yogurt and oh-so-good: http://bitesandbowls.com/2009/02/24/black-bean-burger-foreign-fries/

You might find this amazing- but I still have 1/2 a jar full of the vanilla cinnamon sunflower butter I bought from GH C’ville back in October. The ONLY reason that has happened is because I probably have 10 other open jars of assorted nut butters in my fridge (and went through a crazy homemade PB phase when I got my Vitamix).

If there’s anyone who can understand 10 jars of nut butter eaten slowly, it’s me :) I have Cacao Bliss that’s about a year old!

Sounds like our winter evening routine. Can’t wait for the longer evenings of spring and summer and warm enough temperatures to be outside instead of vegging in front of TV.

Wow, that’s some serious granola!! I’m afraid I might not ever want to look at granola again after making that much. That pizza looks amazing! I like you’re evening routine. I’ve gotten hooked on a show on Hulu recently, and might evenings look about like that.

Even if I had that much granola in my kitchen, it would probably only last a month or so :-)

That’s a heck of a lot of granola! And anytime a salad has avocado… nom. Every once in a while, I like to douse a spinach salad with jalapeño ranch and crumbled bacon.

Too bad I live in Finland – can’t order your granola! Also, we only have one kind of PB here, the regular kind. Cinnamon vanilla sunflower butter sounds so delicious!

The winter routine does tend to get kind of monotonous – for me too. Though I’d argue that your routine right there seems pretty great! Regardless, I’m ready for some warmer weather!

41 Chelsea @ One Healthy Munchkin March 6, 2012 at 8:07 am

I rarely crave savoury snacks too – I always want fruit or granola or Greek yogurt. But that tofu and pimento cheese combo looks good!

42 Kim March 6, 2012 at 8:26 am

Take away “blog” and “e-mails” and replace “LOST” with “Arrested Development” and our routine is similar, hehe. I cannot wait for spring.

43 Hope @ With A Side Of Hope March 6, 2012 at 8:27 am

Your snacks look quite tasty! :) I love having a salad with pizza. It’s great to start the meal off light and then move to something a little bit heavier.

I hear you on the routine. I like routines most of the time but it does get boring. Hopefully once it gets warmer there will be more opportunity to change it up with walks and whatnot.

Enjoy your “boring” routine, I think we all start to think that way by the end of the winter. Baby will certain change that “boring” routine, although I loved the baby routine so much that my kids are 12 months and 12 days apart! I just started The Hunger Games at 9:30 last night after our “boring” routine of buy paint, make dinner, help kids make a “fort” outside, eat dinner, clean up, husband framing kid’s bathroom, games, cleanup, pajamas, teeth brushing, books, kid’s bedtime, cleanup, pay tuition bill, clean up, get ready for bed, try and stay awake to read and make it to chapter 6! Great job on the salad! Love the granola factory, my friend just gave me a $20 gift card to Trader Joes because I have been keeping her stocked with granola and other baked goods.
