I spent 4.9 hours in a cramped window seat switching positions every 10 minutes. MAN was that a long flight! Thankfully going east is swifter!
But the view was nice!!
I ate my sandwich and plum at "dinnertime" and read nearly 300 pages of my book (As Husbands Go by Susan Isaacs)
Thanks so much to Tammy for picking me up at the airport! The SD airport is SO convenient – only a few miles from the city! My bag was also one of the first out. Those two things made up for the long flight : )
I had to do a quick turnaround though because I had a big date to get to – a KERF reader date!
I took a quick look at the beautiful view of my hotel room and headed back downstairs
I met this fun bunch of ladies for a walk and some froyo!
Lorin, Kelley, Kaitlyn, Averie, Katie, Tammy, Jeanna, Meredith
We strolled along the waterfront and then ended our outing at Pinkberry!
Salted Caramel!! With sea salt and choco chips
Totally delicious! I loved the texture too. It’s neck and neck with Sweet Frog!
Check out this amazing floor!!
Fun fun times
Man I am exhausted!! I have emails in my inbox and they’re just going to have to sit there. PSA: traveling is not the best time to email me with questions : )
Somehow I signed up for a 5K run at 6:30 tomorrow morning. I think I have juuuust enough time for 7.5 hours of sleep – if I get in my bed NOW!

Fun fun! Can’t wait to get there!!
It was a fun night, nice to finally get to meet you as a second attempt! I hope you enjoy San Diego and the conference.
I sympathise with the flight thing…but felt the need to comment that 5 hours in Australia is pretty standard, and even then you’re still in the country! Shorter trips must be one of the many advantages of living in a bigger but more populated place like America
I hope you enjoy your conference and San Diego (the frozen yoghurt looked like a nice welcome!).
Wow, sounds like a fun day. I absolutely LOVE Pinkberry, it’s my favorite FroYo shop by far. Good luck with your race tomorrow!
Have a great time! The frozen yogurt looks great.
Looks like a fun time! Pinkberry is fantastic. I wish we had one nearby, but then again it’s probably good (for me) that we don’t. haha
I LOVE Pinkberry. IF you go back, try the pomegranate–it’s my favorite!
caramel froyo sounds amazing!!
Looks like your stay in SD started off super fun! Nothings better than frozen yogurt!
Yum that Pinkberry looks so good!
Have a great run
Look! It’s Averie!
That’s the BEST when your luggage is the first to come out on the conveyer belt thing
I hate awkwardly standing around waiting for my bag with a whole bunch of strangers
Kath it was wonderful seeing you tonight and meeting up with everyone else!
The stroll (and those stairs..haha!) was lovely and I may even have snapped that pic of you with your pinkberry? holding it? If so, it turned out. Whew.
Glad you have a shot with the coveted Pinkberry.
Your parting PSA about emailing you with questions…the past 3 weeks I have taken two trips (one international) and I have packed and moved! into a new house. And it never fails, the minute I get on an airplane, I get tons of emails from people with questions
I totally know what you mean on that one!
I hope you have an awesome day and in just a few hours…you’ll be up…and running. Have fun!
Salted carmel?! yum! good luck on the run tommorow
That long flight, time zone differences, evening out and then a 5k run in the morning?? You’re amazing!!!
Hope you have a fun and exciting day!!
thats the flavor i wouldve picked, mmm. Nice group photo.
Wish we had a pinkberry.
Looks like a great time!
Fun! I been to lots n lots of fro yo places, but I don’t think I’ve been to the famous pinkberry yet! We have menchie’s, 32degrees, and a couple otheres though!
Honestly even a 1 hour flight seems long to me — I just get so antsy in airplanes.
I’m glad the meetup went well — I’m super jealous that you met Averie!!!
You all have such pretty hair!
Good luck On the run! That fro yo Looks Awesome.
I’ve never had pinkberry.
I’ve never had the original Pinkberry, so jealous! Hope the 5k went well!
I also read Averie’s blog so its so funny to look at your pictures and see her. Then go to her site and read about her plans to meet up with you!!! Never had Pinkberry, South Jersey has Spoon Me!
Yay so happy you tried the salted caramel!!
My hubby and I stayed right there at that Hard Rock hotel for our honeymoon. We seriously had Pinkberry everyday…it was so hard not to with it being right there!
Have fun!
Salted caramel – sounds awesome!
We went to San Diego this past November from New Jersey and the flight felt TORTUROUS! I’m just too antsy to sit in a tiny little seat like that for so long! Of course it’s always worth it once you’re there but I definitely relate to feeling super crampy and ready to just get up!
That Pinkberry combination of flavors looks absolutely incredible. Seriously – it’s 8AM and I haven’t eaten breakfast yet and now that’s all I want…haha.
Have so much fun and ENJOY yourself!
Have so much fun and best of luck in the5K
Pinkberry has salted caramel?! I need to be better about keeping on top of their flavors.
I expecially like that they offer whipped cream – my favorite topping (aside from PB).
Good luck with the 5k!! It’s a great way to stretch out and “unwind” after a plane ride, I’m sure. And have fun!
I know the feeling. Longest flight ever…imagine it with an 8 month old who wants out of my lap more than I want out of my seat ;P So is the conference at the Conference Center? That place is huge. Looks like you’re staying in the GasLamp district
Have fun. Levi ate an Oatmeal Smoothie this morning and we thought of you.
It’s so awesome you can go anywhere and be surrounded by friends. I love it!
Salted Caramel fro-yo?! Oh my gosh! I must try that!
Good luck at the 5K race, Kath! I’m sure you’ll kill it!
mmmmm fun. I WANT that salted caramel fro yo!!!! NOW

Mmm that froyo looks awesome, Yum! Enjoy your morning run and the conference!
Looks like a fun time! The frozen yogurt looks delicious
That was such a fun night! What a great group of girls! Time to get my blogher on! Enjoy the weekend!
Salted caramel sounds delicious! Hope your run went well his morning, looks like you are already having a good time there!
I just took my 5th flight in 3 weeks yesterday, so I hear you on the feeling claustrophobic thing. I’m starting to feel like Southwest airplanes are my second home!
I’ve been to that Pinkberry, love that floor!
have fun on my coast!
I LOVE PINKBERRY! My fave combo is green tea with frozen blueberries!!!
Salted caramel? Best sounding froyo flavor ever! This is making me reallllllly want to make it to Foodbuzz this year. So fun!! Have fun on vacay
Awww you guys all look like you’re having so much fun!! That’s what it’s all about
Have fun on your run!! I totally would have signed up too haha happy Friday!
Anything salted with sea salt and the word caramel is my favorite!!
Have a blast!!! I sooooo wish I was there. Y’all must be having a blast.
I love Pinkberry! We don’t have one here but every time we go to Nashville we stop at one. The shop is just too adorable! And everything is so tasty!
Enjoy Blohher!! Some day when my blog grows up, it wants me to go hang with all the cool bloggers!!!
SD is where I fell in love with Pinkberry! Have an AWESOME time there and if you get a chance…head off the beaten path a bit to Zia’s Gourmet Pizza—one of my favorite pizzas I’ve ever had! http://www.ziagourmetpizza.com/
And here I thought salted caramel fro yo only happened in my dreams. That sounds great, and you ladies look lovely!
I have never been to downtown San Diego, but have heard that it is cool!
I <3 the floor at Pinkberry!

Oh good you were able to get rid of that comment I was responding to…
