Rejuvenated

Took a heavenly bubble bath last night followed by 20 minutes of Lunar Flow yoga and some of my Matanzas Creek Winery lavender balm. I slept until 8:15!

This morning was all about pumpkin oats + Gossip Girl. And now it’s time to get back to reality and work. [Gossip Girl was a good one!!!]

I got to meet Deb in San Francisco on Saturday and she brought me this jar of her homemade crunchy pecan butter! She says the only recipe is just to whir away some pecans in a Vitamix blender, or any blender with an attachment to help mix. I loved that it had chunks of pecan floating throughout because I am totally a crunchy kinda girl!

Christmas Blend + Decaf Pumpkin Spice (I’m having to re-do all of my auto-links on my new computer, but thankfully it takes no time at all!!)

This hurricane is sticking around. I’m headed to the gym by automobile and then having a quick lunch and then classes all afternoon + evening.

Have a great day all!

We have a nor’easter here right now. Is it bad that I’m probably going to the back of campus to the gym? ;)

I finally gave into the gossip girl phenomena last weekend. Rented season 1 volume 1 . . . must get volume 2 soon, I definitely see what all the fuss is about, man it’s addicting.

I’m obsessed with buying unique nuts to make nut butters at home. Specialty nut butters are expensive so I like trying them on my own too. :-) And chunky is best!

Aw how sweet of her to make you some nut butter! I like chunky as well. :-)

I love making my own nut butters but I make them in the food processor. Easy peasey though it does take a little time.

Hi Kath, glad you are home safe and Matt is feeling better.

You always seem so confident and rational in all aspects of life…including your weight!! I was wondering if you would consider doing an article or writing a little bit about that. I really struggle with self-confidence especially where my weight is considered. I’m pretty much always in a normal healthy weight range – maybe the higher end of normal but if I gain weight I get very depressed and quite often I go to bed feeling fat if I didn’t eat well that day. If my clothes are fitting tight is another cause or if I am around really thin people. Basically, not one day goes by when I am not upset because I feel like I’m fat. I am a working professional and volunteer in my spare time. I work out regularly and am in a long term relationship. I have a lot going for me but I still can’t get past feeling like my self-worth and my weight are tied together…i.e. I’m never thin enough!! How do you maintain such high self-confidence? I don’t feel like you have this issue at all and I really admire your attitude towards your body and food.

Pecan butter sounds wonderful. I love pecans, they’re the most dessert-ish of nuts. Any oatmeal with butterscotch involved is a decadent bowl.

Be safe in the weather, and have fun getting back into the groove of classes!

hey you all oatmeallovers!
great looks your bowl! after many times wondering why the hell you would put pumpkin in your OATMEAL..?!! I tried. .. and it was lovely!
another suggestion: oatmeal cooked with milk, then add some grated carrot and grated coconut, plus chunks of pineapple. top with greek yoghurt and you are eating carrot cake!
and eh.. last but not least: oats cooked with light soy chocolate milk ( or skim milk and cocoa powder), top with mini marshmallows which will melt…and with graham cracker crumbs! this will give you the ’smores taste in your oatmeal!
ciao from Holland!
