Rainbow Brite

February 9, 2009

Back from Biochem. My quiz went well enough, but it wasn’t on all the structures – which I knew best!

It was so nice to eat lunch with the husband, as Mondays are his days off but I am usually gone :) I made a rainbow of a salad to go with the sunny day –

IMG_1510 (1024x768)

  • Romaine
  • Broccoli
  • Carrot
  • Peppers
  • Beets
  • Feta
  • ~1/4 cup Sabra hummus (under the cheese!)
  • ~1 tbsp Annie’s Raspberry dressing

IMG_1508 (1024x768)

Plus a side plate of pear, orange + Kashi Sesame

IMG_1512 (1024x768)

It’s been a while my lovers!! I think the husband and I ate half a box!

IMG_1513 (1024x768)

IMG_1511 (1024x768)

POM + water

Can I add that I’m wearing a Rainbow Brite vest too!?!?!

In The Blog World

A loaf of the husband’s homemade bread is up for auction over at Graduate Meagann’s Blogging Bake Sale. She’s raising money for the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society :)

My grandpa is sporting the KERF attire over at Every Gym’s Nightmare’s Blogger Fashion Show.

And Zesty is giving away two sets of Grill Charms! How cute for burgers. Mmmm….bur-gurrrs.

That’s it kids! I gotta get to studying ASAP!

Your lunch and your vest both look good-but I wonder how the vest tastes with hummus? heh, just kidding.

time to get back to studying for me too! Thanks for being the most awesome study break a foody college girl could ask for 😉

I really love all the colors – especially the juice. I used to drink white cranberry juice a lot and it was the same color. Yum!

16 Amelia February 9, 2009 at 2:37 pm

Ahh I was such a fan of Rainbow Brite as a kid! I definitely had a RB-themed party one year. :)

Good luck with the studying!

28 Molly February 9, 2009 at 3:06 pm

I tried to get my parents to name my little sister Rainbow Brite. It did not work so well.

29 Michelle February 9, 2009 at 3:10 pm

If only my salads can be as different and interesting every day as yours, I would be eating ’em all the time. *sigh* I think I need more creativity!!

30 Katie February 9, 2009 at 3:13 pm

Your vest is quite fabulous! The eats look great, too.

I love colorful salads! Don’t you feel so healthy eating foods like that?

Does anyone remember that toy with the little lights you could rearrange to make designs? Shoot I can’t remember what they were called but when I hear Rainbow Brite it makes me think of that game/toy/whatever.

35 Diana February 9, 2009 at 4:56 pm

Wow! What a beauty lunch! So pretty! I have a wicked giveaway on now. You should check it out!

36 Biz February 9, 2009 at 5:05 pm

I bid on Matt’s bagels. Being diabetic, most of the sweets I have to avoid, but Matt’s bread is definitely insulin worthy! 😀

37 Emily W. February 9, 2009 at 5:41 pm

42 KatieTX February 9, 2009 at 6:57 pm

I put beets in my salad and got strange looks! I also had feta in my salad. Apparently, we are salad twins today! My dinner is canned soup, so sadly, I think the streak ends here.

43 Marissa February 9, 2009 at 7:03 pm

Your salad and vest are so great! Plus they have tons of colors! :)

44 Meredith (Pursuing Balance) February 9, 2009 at 7:13 pm
