Back to normal. Went to bed at 10:26 and up in the sixers to make some pumpkin oats
- 1/3 cup oats, milk, water
- 1 tiny banana
- 1 tbsp chia seeds
- 1/3 cup pumpkin, stirred in at end
- Cinnamon + Vanilla
- Crumbled Maple Almond Crunch granola plank
- Costco PB
I was actually very disappointed with the new granola planks
I used to eat these all the time back in the day and they were very soft and crumbly. Now they are sticky and are very hard so that crumbling was very difficult. I had to get a knife out to cut it! It almost tasted stale it was so dry. The company lowered the calories (and probably fat) and that fat is very much missed!
Melted PB fell off!!
Pumpkin Spice + Christmas Blend

It’s a very Pumpkin breakfast!:-)
I love the table setting with candles ! and your glass bowl. that’s a very good shot.
Sorry to hear the new planks aren’t as good as in the past. I remember you eating those things all the time when I first started reading!
Sorry that they changed the recipie on ya
Some people are afraid of a llittle bit of fat! Even at the expense of taste!
Good luck on the paper, chica!
I hate when people mess with a good thing! At least your oats took a pretty picture!
good luck on the paper!! those oats look delicious and LOVE that triangle, glass bowl
That mix of coffee sounds so good. I think you have inspired me to try a french press.
That oatmeal looks amazing!
Good luck on your paper Kath!
If it ain’t broke…
Good luck on your paper!
I love your breakfast time ambiance. Maybe I need to start lighting a candle at breakfast!
Good luck on your paper
I was just debating what to make for breakfast and pumpkin oats sounds perfect on a grey, rainy morning. Yay!
I had the exact same combo for breakfast! SOOO good!
Have a great day!
Sorry! Always a bummer when a company changes a favorite product’s recipe!
Those pumpkin oats look delicious and hearty. What a perfect fall breakfast!
Cool oatmeal bowl!
Bummer about the granola
Looks like a great bowl of oats though!
Make it a fun-filled day and enjoy the pizza..yum!
Enjoy!
Despite the lackluster granola, that bowl of oats still looks pretty spectacular. Looks like you have a lovely schedule ahead of you for the day.
I love how melty anddelicious your peanut butter always look!
That is so frustrating when a company changes something that you love!
MMM…. I just had breakfast, but now I want some pumpkin oats.
I think your oats look even more amazing with the cool see-through glass and triangular shape. But the melty PB doesn’t hurt
Beautiful oats, as always!
I wish I could be on your schedule! I wake up so late!
Sorry the pIanks were dissapointing, I saw them at the store yesterday and was tempted to purchase. But I’m glad I didn’t now!
Oooo pizza time! Have fun!
i love see-through bowls. i feel like it lets me see all aspects of deliciousness!
Loving the glass bowl !
i love melty pb!
good luck with the paper writing!
I LOVE how honest your reviews are!!
Kath, let me just tell you that you have completely inspired my oatmeal! I have been eating oatmeal in the morning for almost a year now, and had the plain ol’ toppings (milk, butter, raisins, sweet something). I love adding granola now! This morning, I tried the PB for the first time. YUM!!! It tasted like a warm bowl of peanut butter cookie batter. Incredible! Thank you!!!!
Your breakfasts make me want to eat breakfast all day!
I love your new comments button
Not sure how long that has been like that, but I like it, haha!
And your breakfast make me wish it was morning ALLLLL the tiimmmmeeeeee.
i love that bowl! it is so fun looking.
Everything looks good. Your egg drop soup dinner from yesterday looks outstanding. I would have wanted that too.
oh i’m sad i missed the fattier granola plank. my hubby had one last night and said it was good but really sweet.
Pumpkin oats are the best!!
Hehe
Have a fun sculpt class! And hope the other times are fun too
Melty peanut butter is the best part of a warm bowl of oats :O). Gorgeous pic!
Pizza time sounds like a good motivation to get through paper time!
that’s disappointing on the granola snacks! sometimes a little extra calories and fat is so worth it!
I’m bummed about the Honest Foods bars…they used to be really good and almost cookie like. Too bad they changed their products. That drippy pb looks so yummy!
Good Luck with the paper!
DUDE! i had the same experience with the planks. it tasted stale and old to me, and i was sad that i didn’t like it b/c i trust your recommendations so much! i DO however like the square bars — A LOT! they taste like delicious, only somewhat healthy cookies to me. the almond one has a strong almond butter presence.
I love pumpkin oats! Yours look scrumptious
Good luck on that paper!
Your pics of breakfast are making me think that getting up early instead of eating at my desk may be worth losing a few minutes of sleep
I actually really like the new planks! If you want them softer, you should try microwaving them for about 10 seconds or so… they get really soft and chewy. My favorite is to pop one in the toaster! YUM!
wow kath! those oats look so delish!
jenna
Pumpkin oats makes me so happy in the moring.
I just realize how to make the glass bowl looks good! (I have one and couldn’t make it look nice). The key is the place mat!!!!
Hi there!! I made pumpkin oats today too!! Actually, last night..they were overnight oats =) So so good w/the Stonyfield pumpkin yogurt + pumpkin puree combo! I don’t think I ever had the Honest Foods granola planks in their older version..I have had 2 with this newer packaging look. I have thought both were just “okay.” Sucks that they used to be better! =( Have a great weekend! Sitting at the airport….off to Ohio and then driving to MI, with the fam, for my grandpa’s funeral. Thankfully, Chris is with me for this trip!
